Just thought I would make a thread to take the UA/Nike discussion out of the realignment thread.

Appears the Shox are getting new threads to go with a new home.

Excited about the UA move. Take a look at these bad boys.

Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

Ugh. Guess I'm too old school. The Seton Hall looks good and I can imagine it with yellow and white on black.

Interesting that when HCGM was at Chester's and ran into Harrison Ford he was with the Nike rep.

It's seemed like Nike has treated us like any other mid major, when we have obviously set ourselves apart for the last decade.

I remember going to the Final 4 and there were stories about how we buy our own uniforms. That's embarrassing given the fiscal and physical support of this program.

Just another reason we have a new AD, I guess.

You can take a look at the Under Armor catalogs here that include lots of images of their various college uniforms:

I have a question: is the font that was used on the unis during our final four game vs Louisville owned by Nike? I LOVED that look. We wore it a couple of times in the undefeated year and then we went to what we have now. I just don't understand why we didn't stick with that font on the "Shockers". It seemed like a branding opportunity that we just threw away.

The cover of the basketball catalog shows what UA is doing for Cal and UCLA who they just signed for next year:

Are the players required to wear UA shoes if we are in a deal with them?

I guess it would depend on the nature of the contract, but almost certainly yes.

The "ShockerS" logo you're referring to is property of WSU. You can buy WSU paraphernalia right now with it.

I agree though, there has been little flow or evolution of our look. I would assume that's because our unis are selected and ordered by a MBB staff member, not a professional designer like you see with some of this UA stuff, the Nike Elite gear, etc.

Yes. Absolutely. No Nike/Adidas/UA deal would ever allow players to wear other shoes.

Looks like the upper echelon gets the better designs. Curious to see what they roll out for WSU. As long as they aren't grey I will be fine.

I think for shoes, the player can purchase their own, but the sponsor provides them for free if they are of the brand.
