The sad part is SD may not have had to outbid Drake. Smith had a good team at SD, I bet all they had to do was get his pay in the ballpark to keep him from jumping to that dumpster fire.

Well until we actually have an official announcement and time frame it could still have implications. If WSU is still in the MVC next year, their ceiling will probably be limited due to the MVC just be like a lead weight around WSU neck.

What if we just didn't play in the MVC next year? Quasi independent. Schedule as many games as possible and let the chips fall where they may. Zero good wins and 18 bad losses to be had. Go to the committee at 11-2 or 12-1 and say "this is our body of work."
