The choice between playing Daishon and Austin comes down to a very athletic junior vs a savvy freshman who physicallly might be overmatched against the likes of Austin. I love Austin's game and Austin would be my choice over Daishon but I don't see them every day and I don't get paid to make those decisions. In any case it's not a clear cut decision.

With hindshight I think many of us on this board believe that Austin would have been better served by taking a redshirt year and that perhaps that is something he should still consider for next year. He clearly has D-1 skills. Now if he can just develop a D-1 body to go with it the sky is the limit for Austin.
Yes, we need to leave the important decisions up to those who make the big bucks. HCGM and his associates know best.

Do you mean a medical redshirt? I'm still learning (I'm sure you can see my naivitë showing through). Being a medical redshirt doesn't count as an actual year of eligibility, right?

Memphis is sort of in my neck of the woods. I live about two hours away from there. I live in podunk, and everything is a drive for me.

No, not a medical redshirt. But medical or otherwisse a redshirt year does not use up any eligibility. The general rule is you have 5 years to complete your 4 years of eligibility. Playing in even 1 countable game will use up a year of eligibility unless you are injured and have played in less than 30% of your teams games. In that case, you can file for a medical hardship waiver and get that year of eligibility restored and perhaps even get a 6th year to compete your 4 years of eligibility.

A voluntary redshirt year for Austin next year would not effect his eligibility. He would come back the following year as a Redshirt Sophomore with 3 years of eligibility remaining.

                • I am SO SICK of cursing unmentionables as the clock expires against Kentucky.

Great fought game by our Shocks! Some players were not quite ready for the prime time, but they'll certainly be dialed in next year.

Some players were TOTALLY dialed in and ready for prime time right now.

Nowhere to go but up from here, and that's REALLY saying something.

Austin will add muscle and more experience, Daishon will become better in his decision making. Shamet and Frankamp will put up first team all MVC? numbers. Shaq will play like SHAQ. DW will get better at defense and using his right hand and passing. Nurger will continue to improve in all aspects and take a big jump again. Keyser will terrify the competition like Keyser Soze. McDuffie will put on 15 pounds and be an unstoppable BEAST, leading the MVC? in free throws attempted and made. 3G will be even more motivated and pissed about this ending, and take home a Natty next year.

Class.. Wouldn't expect anything else from the Kentucky fanbase. An embarrassment to college basketball

They apparently threatened to take her media credential away. As they should. You aren't getting prime seats to record fans and put them on Twitter.

I'm guessing this is a false flag. I'll guess an IP address centered in Johnson County, KS.

                              • To be brutally honest DS just killed us, as did, DW. The goal
tending call hurt, as well, as the end of game dynamics would
have favored us rather then UK. Back to DS. I surely hope
that AR comes back stronger next season and plays in his place.
Hoping that the new big guy will take DW's minutes. Sorry, just
the way I feel right now. I just don't like low BBIQ's.
