Nothing pretty, but so much toughness. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Great win out of the gate for the Shocks. Shook off a little rust and first game tightness. We needed a grind it out game like this and Dayton delivered. They were a tough out, but our guys came through and found a way to pull it out. Hats off to Brown and also Nurger and Kelly. They help steady the ship when Shaq was battling foul trouble and Willis was bothered by Daytons size and quickness. Actually think Willis will match up better against Kentucky. As will Shaq. Look for Conner to have a bounce back game, the big 3 he hit will get him rolling Sunday. Limit our turnovers and I like our chances, we're no Northern Kentucky.

2nd half figuring if we won I'd celebrate with more after the game. It's now 11:07
and I have a terrible headache and a $$ golf game early in the morning. Time for
bed. BTW, great team win, defense, and rebounding effort. Dayton was TOUGH !

Dayton defense was phenomenal. We were double and triple teamed with every movement of the ball. They pressured the perimeter at least 6-8' past the arc and covered Conner like a wet blanket. They clearly were not going to let Shamet and Frankamp beat them. Luckily for us, you can't really gameplan against a talented bench that goes 10 deep. I figured some of the "other guys" were going to have to step up, you just never know who that will be. Hats off of Downtown Brown, Junkyard Dog Rashard and Big Nurge! I don't think we'll see another defense like that but we are going to have to have big games from our tops guys to win the next level games. Can't wait for the rematch.

I am still so thankful Kelly hit that tough shot at the end of the first half. Mr. Brown hit some sweet shots and always plays the D. How about Nurger taking it to the rack for the thunder dunk? It takes big plays such as these to beat an excellent and a Senior experienced hard nose team like Dayton. What a game and a nice win for the Shocks.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
