I agree with Kel about Daishon Smith -- he's encountered the hurdles that WSU's juco players often do as they progress through their first year of facing teams that do serious scouting. But he's been better lately, and he's improving. Mostly, though, the difference has been how good Landry and Conner have been. There's a lot about WSU that's different from the team that faced the Cowboys (although they seem to be better, too); and that's the whole point: WSU now is not the team it was back then in the games many people are pointing to.
Glad to see you've survived a winter in Alaska so far, although I'm sure you have plenty more to get through.

OSU's deny everything defense gave our young guards fits. Now that the Cowboys have switched to a more traditional defense I would like our chances much more.
It would be an interesting game and likely a shootout as both teams can really score. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

I think Daishon and Willis hit a stall that i think Jucos get in their first years. The past few games have shown them getting through that.
2nd 5 of Smith, Reaves, Kelly, Willis and Nurger should see lots of action to keep everyone fresh during 3 days. Hoping that pays dividends in the coming weeks."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Without fail, the teams who are typically "trending up" but lack a good body of work get left out of the tournament because fans/writers have recency bias. They think, "wow, this team has been playing well the last 15 games" but if they aren't that good overall, they won't be playing in the NCAA.
That said, I don't think that applies to us, but we shall see."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W. Edwards Deming

Except the KStates and every team in a P5 conference that need to win 4 of their last 5, then its 3 of their last 4, then 2 of their last 3, 1 of their last 2, but never do, then win a game or 2 in their conference tourney.
Jeez WTF is their bubble made of? A trojan?"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!
