To me it would depend on the degree to which they are thrown under the bus. I've never heard 3G take down an assistant publicly but he has tactfully addressed a player when their performance was less than adequate.

I think his new nickname might be Chester.

It's thought that MSU can raise private money for specific purposes. The money to buy Lusk out may be there.

SIU?? Try finding money in Carbondale or among SIU's alumni base. That's not a group that has (even collectively) an extra million or two laying around. I think Jenny McCarthy (or someone similar) may be an SIU alum, but that's unlikely to develop into something that can be tapped for sports.

This would be a great year for MSU to make a move with what they've got coming back next year. New coach wouldn't need a complete rebuild, which would offset the difficulty a new coach has with only late signees available.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

          From SalukiNation,

#1 fan wrote:Sorry if this was already discussed but I just remembered a tidbit from a BH BWW radio show with Reis about a month ago. I think it was after the UNI trainwreck at home where we completely fell apart down the stretch:

Reis: Coach, what happened down the stretch yesterday? How did the lead get away from you guys?

Hinson: Mike, I'll be honest with you. Our guys don't have very long attention spans. These millennials these days have the attention span of my grandson. God bless them, but you tell them something one minute and they forget it 30 seconds later. We are going to have to go to assistant coaches reminding each player as we break the huddle what we just discussed because these guys can't retain the information. Mike, you'll remember Tamar Macklin when we were at Missouri State. He was a good player. But god bless him, he has a learning disability and can't memorize directions very easily, so our assistants would have to help him during timeouts. That's what we are going to have to go to here.

So to summarize, not only did Barry throw his current group of kids under the bus, but he also went about 10 years in the past and threw an old player under the bus too. If I was the parent of one of the players on his team currently, I would be pissed if he was publicly calling my kid out like this, when the kid could be a great student and great learner. Barry got in a lot of trouble for singling out players (Fillyaw in his rant) but this generalizing crap is just as bad because it makes all 15 players sound dumb. I simply think Barry and his huckster ways are too confusing, especially when he gets fired up, for players to follow when he's ranting and yelling in a 30-second timeout.

Oh, and if I was Tamar Macklin and heard this, I would be pissed too.

If anybody wants this at WSU, we will never see eye to eye
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

Unlike football, two or three really good players can hide a lot of coaching deficiencies. Finding those players is often finding the right connected assistant coach. Our head guy knows that better than anybody. Not sure many others grasp the concept or are willing to go out on a limb to do so

I think what we can hope for is a max of six top 100 conference games.

We are going to need teams like Missouri State to shoot for something a bit better than 320th ranked non-conference schedule.

Even the Shocks with all the crashing and burning the happened with their non-con schedule have a NCSOS of 183.

They would love to have him I'm sure but would he reallly want to take that big of a pay cut?

Does anyone know where I can find the over/under on how many SIU fans will show up for the Loyola game Saturday in their skivvies with a bag of Cheetos?

Probably not a good thing to do on Senoir Night. Maybe at next year's exhibition game if Barry is still around. After all, it is an exhibition game so if the boxers fit ...
