I did not think that was a foul.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Loyola is horribly coached. Shoot the ball with more than 30 seconds to ensure a possession to end the game. And that 27 foot heave was the play he drew up in the huddle? Godawful.

Mr. "I'm too good for Wichita State" Custer couldn't knock down the big shot.

I don't know why more college teams don't go for 2-for-1s.

Drive or shoot with 40 seconds left. Give yourself 10 seconds to respond if needed.

Two buzzer beaters in a row ISUr has avoided...

They could still well drop a game before Sunday in STL.

So bad - they scored at will when they had Doyle try to penetrate throughout a possession. In the final minutes they hardly got him the ball.

There is a silver lining. The Jailbirds best players are having to put in a lot of minutes down the stretch. They might not have much left in the tank come Sunday afternoon.

The logic for not doing so is that you'd rather get one good shot than two bad ones. If you get too quick a shot, you also might not have much time to respond after the other team has their possession. Differs from coach to coach depending on philosophy.

                    • I'm no fan of Illinois St., but we should all be thankful they're good this year or the Shocks would probably have no shot at an at large bid. That one top 50 win isn't much but it's better than nothing.
I still don't understand how they have a better RPI than WSU. 5 losses to our 4. Two of those 5 losses to teams with RPI's over 100. All four Shocker losses to top 50 teams. One top 50 win, just like us. One win over a 50-100 team, just like us. It can only be because RPI takes NO account of margin of victory. Today's 2 point win over Loyola was valued by RPI exactly the same as our 12 point home win over LU. Just like their 16 point win over us was valued exactly the same as our 41 point beat down of them. That and SOS. Although, in a normal year, WSU's non-conference schedule would be considered brutal. We get blamed for Oklahoma, LSU, Michigan St., Saint Louis having historically bad years. Even Oklahoma State's season would be considered disappointing over all. You've gotta love the RPI.

                      • Can we sticky the RPI formula somewhere? Sheesh.
