Shaq is 100% the best center in the conference. This is merely what he is capable of when he is allowed to play all game. Put him against Murphy who is bigger than him and all the sudden the refs aren't calling Shaq for everything.
Coach especially flicks that watch hand wrist enough to keep it ticking and on punctual time. It does seem okay since Shaq is a horse that our Valley foes can ride him like a rented mule with no whistles to be heard. Even so, today we witnessed the Shaq we thought would have already been a monsta in this here Valley. Lot's of games left and Valley teams will tremble if Morris flicks on his "Shaq Switch" and pumps up the volume to a mild roar game after game. His passing, rebounding, scoring, and D-Fense were all demonstrated today at 21st and Hillside.

In the first half, in walks Austin and what a half he had too. Drawing charges, blocked a shot and finishes with a su-weet dunk on the same sequence. Shamet and Austin are 2 of the best 5 Frosh. in this here Valley. Of course for me, they are ranked 1 and 2 and give us a bright future to behold.

The Shocker Freshman Trio put up a decent line against the Sickamores today. 9-13 FG (3-5 3Ptrs), 5-7 FT for a total of 26 points in a combined 41 minutes of play. Austin chipped in a couple of rebounds, 3 steals, a couple of charges taken, a blocked shot (I think he actually had 2) that was part of the play of the game and a partridge in a pear tree. That is acceptable.

Me too, KW, I was hopping he'd get his second double in a row. He played another whale of a game and you could see how proud he was near the end of the game when the crowd cheered him.

Is it time to consider starting Reaves at the 1?

He does/did play the 1 some of the time. It's all about match ups. He played well today. Frankamp played ok. Daishon seemed to disappear.

If Reaves had started from day 1 you wouldn't have heard any complaining from me.

I'm just gonna say that was a fun game to watch in pretty much every facet. I know we played a Valley bottom feeder, but I felt like this team was dialed in and has developed chemistry it hasn't had until the second half of the UE game.
                  Deuces Valley.
                  ... No really, deuces.

Is it possible this team has finally bought in on D? If so, the rest of the Valley better watch out.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Good Lord, Greg Lansing has made our program so irrelevant that the game thread here on Shockernet is three whole pages. Anyone see why I want a new coaching staff? We have one, maybe two, D-I players on our team. It's embarrassing.

My apologies to you all having to watch the **** show that is Sycamore basketball. We're terrible, and there's no reason to think that will change.

On a different note, did I hear that my second favorite team has no seniors?

We have two seniors that are walk-ons. One of the walk-ons, J.R. Simon, was awarded a scholarship for the 2nd semester that was vacated when Peyton Allen, a transfer from Texas A&M, withdrew from school in September for personal reasons. That scholarship will be available next year but we have 2 players signed for next year so we will be one over the limit pending whatever roster adjustments will be made.

Damn. There's rebuilding, and then there's reloading. Good times ahead!!!

We will have a boatload (7 to be exact) of seniors to replace after next year. So that will be a challenge.

Speaking of PG, I'm surprised I haven't seen this in the thread, but the starting lineup seemed to have Shamet playing point and Frankamp playing SG. When Reaves subbed in for Shamet, he played point and Frankamp stayed at SG.

Shamet has little or no hesitation to drive the lane. He didn't end up with any assists, but he was certainly able to make the defense adjust, and a defense that is adjusting is the first sign of a breakdown of the defense. Reaves is fearless driving to the hoop. There may be trees in there - he just goes around and in between them. Reaves and Shamet are both sneaky quick.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
