  • Things are starting to click for Markis and he trusts his knee a little more with each passing week. He is very close to upping his game to a level commensurate with where Cle was as a junior.

If everyone stays healthy, next year is going to be the nightmare to end all nightmares in the post for our Valley foes. They'll think this year is horrifying but they haven't seen anything yet.

This is so true. Improved depth at the guard position for sure (SHJ), plus hopefully improved depth at the post (we'll see how AM comes along). But LS, AR, DW, MM, DS, and CJK with a second year in the program and a strong senior class...oh man. Can't wait.

Just my opinion, but he's probably more athletic than DK.

        • With regards to an upside between right now and their final game in a WSU uni, I don't think there's anyone on the team with more potential for a huge disparity than CJ. Real excited about what the future holds with him.

Appeared to be some motion in the depth chart tonight.

            Moving up:
            Reaves
            Keyser

            Moving down:
            Kelly
            Frankamp
            Hamilton

At the end of the game, Hamilton come in AFTER the walk-ons.

Kelly looked like the only one in the "Moving Down" group tryong to get minutes back. Both of Hamilton's attempts were very deep 2's. I doubt that's going to help his PT status.
Hamilton is an Airport All American. Just doesn't translate to the court.

He just doesn't get it. It seems to me that there has been no improvement from a BBIQ standpoint from last year to this year. He has the physical ability to be a dominant player in this league, but i'm not sure he has what it takes between his ears.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

He doesn't seem to be too comfortable down on the block. He floats out to 3 land a lot.

You never know if bigs will figure it out until they get consistent minutes... he has a log jam to overcome.

I did think CF played well. Not playing to conspiracy theorists here, but Conner was open a lot in the first half where passes went the other way to a more loaded side.

CJ is making strides, but he still plays a lot like the freshman he is.

Yes, Brown had a horrible night. After a few mistakes, he started second guessing himself and it only got worse.

How McDuffie was not the player of the game is beyond me. Hustled, hustled, double, double. 10 points, 11 rebounds, and throw in 2 steals.
McDuffie was the player of the game according to the board in Koch Arena. I don't know if they did a different one on TV

That was an amazing shift of money in the last 20 seconds of that one. I expect we'll make SC's "Bad Beats" tonight in case any of you are up. I lol'ed.

But yah, it's hard to get up in the second half against an NAIA team when you're up 40. It's just hard to sustain that. Brown was an absolute mess. He didn't act like he wanted to be out there. That inbound pass that sealed his benching was the absolutely worst pass I've ever seen inbounded before. Just complete full-out laziness. He is a major enigma at times.

Oh well, 25 point win problems.

Need to DESTROY UNI on Sunday.
Brown isn't an enigma to me.

His upside is on defense where he can be a lock down defender.

He will have games when the shot is money, but you can't count on it. When he plays well on defense the shot doesn't need to go in because he can be that great.

His downside is his overall impact to the offense. He has no idea what ball movement is and it is beyond frustrating. Sometimes he ultimately makes the correct pass, but it is always a moment or two late.

I felt a little bad last night after his careless inbounds pass and I yelled, and I mean yelled, "get him out of there" which was Gregg's thought as well. There is just no reason for such a lackadaisical play. He was not alone with that type of play but he had too many for a junior "leader". And, for the second game in a row, he drives and throws up an off balance prayer with a wide open teammate right in front of him on the 3 point line. That troubles me.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

                          • Tremendous cleavage shot in the crowd cam coming out of the 7:46 1st half timeout. Kudos to the production staff for making it look like they were focusing on the kids' dancecam a row below. That is P5 quality work.

I honestly believe GGG is force-feeding Brown to make him become the type of player he apparently thinks Brown can become. GGG has proven to be right much more than wrong, so...
