  • 1. Very hard to assess progress of any of our players with these games
    2. Games like these are counter productive as far as I am concerned
    3. I fear some players that are shinning now are going to fade versus
    better competition
    4. It is what it is - I just can't praise anyone against this competition
    5. Should have a better game on Sunday - looking forward to it

    • I don't think Drake is as bad as the played in the 1st half and I know the Shocks are better than they played in the 2nd half. I suppose the end result was right about what was expected especially if you ignore the lucky ass 3-pointer by Drake at the end of the game.

        That was Frankamp style.

(The high school version; definitely not the college version.)

That was an amazing shift of money in the last 20 seconds of that one. I expect we'll make SC's "Bad Beats" tonight in case any of you are up. I lol'ed.

But yah, it's hard to get up in the second half against an NAIA team when you're up 40. It's just hard to sustain that. Brown was an absolute mess. He didn't act like he wanted to be out there. That inbound pass that sealed his benching was the absolutely worst pass I've ever seen inbounded before. Just complete full-out laziness. He is a major enigma at times.

Oh well, 25 point win problems.

Need to DESTROY UNI on Sunday.
Were you sitting behind me at the game? That's what I said almost verbatim to my family as the crowd was clearing out.....weird.

            • That W dropped the Shox rpi 15 points to #91. Going 17-1 in league play might not be good enough for an at-large bid.

Appeared to be some motion in the depth chart tonight.

              Moving up:
              Reaves
              Keyser

              Moving down:
              Kelly
              Frankamp
              Hamilton

At the end of the game, Hamilton come in AFTER the walk-ons.

Kelly looked like the only one in the "Moving Down" group tryong to get minutes back. Both of Hamilton's attempts were very deep 2's. I doubt that's going to help his PT status.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                    • A few thoughts:

Conner was very good tonight. He knocks down 1 or 2 more shots and he's outstanding. See what I mean about the crowd reaction on every shot though?

Conner, Austin and Landry combined for 11 assists and no turnovers. In a game that was out of hand and got sloppy, that's impressive.

Reaves was cold, 1-4, but still a large impact player. If guys could catch the ball a little more frequently, he'd average 5 assists a game. Minimum.

C.J. Keyser is making giant strides in my opinion. Still a chance for him to make significant contributions this year. Especially post season if he continues to work.

Felt really bad for Zach. It wasn't like he wasn't trying, but man, nothing was going right for him.

Rashard is falling further down the pecking order.

I wish Shaq would enjoy the game a little more....I think it would help.

Landry Shamet has been very good of late, but he was excellent tonight. He's a freshman?

McDuffie played his tail off tonight. He's getting better and better.

This team does have a lot of upside, even this year.

                      • If C.J. sticks around I don't see how he can't some kind of a serious factor when he's an upperclassmen. I think of David Kyles, but bigger and just as quick.

                          .
                          Just commenting on these two.

Rashard does so many things right. I've been really impressed with his game the past few games. He hustles, gets boards, plays defense, takes charges, makes good smart passes, but is offensively challenged at times.... Who does that remind you of? Wessel but taller and more athletic. That's what he is and i hope those contributions shine like Wessel did for us over the next year and a half.

Shaq is the biggest man on the court, no one can stop him, yet he trys to get fancy and misses a lot and falls down. Go strong and dunk the ball. I'd like to see them try to stop you. And I'm perfectly fine with a couple extra charges if you are trying to poster a guy.

Shaq is getting there, and will be a special player before he's done. I hope it's before he's a senior.

Now Rashard on the other hand; I think what you see is what you get. He has to improve upstairs (on the court, ok?) before he's considered an E. Wessel type contributor. To wit:

                            Player - Minutes - Turnovers (2016)
                            Wessel - 742 - 13, Kelley - 564 - 25, Brown - 671 - 36, Morris - 530 - 25

Shaq's getting better, but Brown and Kelley still have more than their fair share of head-scratching, unforced turn overs. I'm not holding my breath.

                            • A 25 point win should be satisfying but the second half left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

                                Very spot on Doc.

I did think CF played well. Not playing to conspiracy theorists here, but Conner was open a lot in the first half where passes went the other way to a more loaded side.

CJ is making strides, but he still plays a lot like the freshman he is.

Yes, Brown had a horrible night. After a few mistakes, he started second guessing himself and it only got worse.

How McDuffie was not the player of the game is beyond me. Hustled, hustled, double, double. 10 points, 11 rebounds, and throw in 2 steals.
