Whew!!! What a 1st half!!! However, Drake will remember beating us the 2nd half when we head to their barn some fine day though. I really like our 4 guard rotation. Make that 5 because CJ had some fine moments tonight. Shaq attacked the paint tonight and was 250+ lbs. of rompin-stompin-steel. For us to win this here Valley, we need Shaq to shine. MM and Willis are cleaning glass until it sparkles. I like that. We have been applying some 3 guard offense type line-ups. With a combo of 2 of these players, I like that. Willis, Duff, or Shaq.
Here is the line-up we may have at times in prime-time games. 1.Smith 2. Shamet 3. MM 4. Willis 5.. Shaq. You like?Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.Comment

The Drake administration really needs to have a come-to-Jesus moment and realize the most appropriate place for an athletic department with their extent of fiscal support, scope, and on-field performance probably isn't at the D1 level. They're an anchor on this conference, with nothing whatsoever to indicate that will ever change. They're the house on the block with the siding falling off, tarps on the roof, foot tall grass, with an '83 Chevy Celebrity sitting on blocks in the side yard.Comment

A tale of two halves obviously. I thought the Shocks could of played better in the 1st half despite totally demolishing Drake. OTOH, the second half was pretty bad. Not sure a really good team would allow that to happen. We still have some warts to eradicate and I'm sure some medicine will be applied tomorrow at practice by Dr. Marshall.
I don't think this group quite yet understands the Play Angry mantra. Hopefully, that will find its way to the surface at some point this year.Comment

The most exciting part of the night was watching the Vegas spread and seeing how it was gonna go. We were a shoe in to cover when ZBush decided he wanted to try to score with nothing left on the shot clock. We did score but the banked-in 3 at the buzzer gave Drake +25.5 the win. That was an amazing shift of money in the last 20 seconds of that one. I expect we'll make SC's "Bad Beats" tonight in case any of you are up. I lol'ed.
But yah, it's hard to get up in the second half against an NAIA team when you're up 40. It's just hard to sustain that. Brown was an absolute mess. He didn't act like he wanted to be out there. That inbound pass that sealed his benching was the absolutely worst pass I've ever seen inbounded before. Just complete full-out laziness. He is a major enigma at times.
Oh well, 25 point win problems.
