The new big man from MSU is supposed to be pretty good and putting up NCOY numbers, Alize I think is his name. It will be interesting to see how he does against our guys.

Glad to see AR wasn't hurt bad. 4-4 from 3. The last 2 heat checks were fun. 56% from 3 on the year. 3rd in # of makes on the team.

Played to our strengths for the most part today. Kelly played so hard but dang I wish he wouldn't shoot another 3 ever.

Shamet, when he catches and shoots, is awfully good. Conner still needs to be more aggressive, but today was better. Saw him smile a couple of times and that was refreshing.

Made the extra pass several times and it often times paid off. Again, fun to watch.

Willis makes me say "no, no, no.....still a bad shot (after it goes in)." 57% FG on the year, you get to take some bad shots.

Still think we're a "better shooting" team than the numbers say for the year (47% 37% from 3) but the FT number is creeping up now at least, 72.3%

Team with a 1.45 assist to turnover ratio.

Yet again, Bradley with more turnovers (23) than made baskets (20) in a game against WSU.

Johnson is a different story. He's tall and long and smooth and learning the game. He's a problem match up for sure and worthy of the attention he's getting.

People (other Valley people) need to keep in mind, being a freshman or newcomer at WSU is different than being one @ Bradley, or UNI or SIU etc etc.

Darrell Brown for BU, for instance, couldn't hold Austin Reaves jock. But 30 minutes and 12 points a game will have some people thinking FOY. Don't.
Exactly, Look at CJ for example. He is spending a lot of time riding the pine due to our depth. At another school I could easily see him playing enough to get FOY consideration.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Exactly. In the prediction thread, I predicted that our 4 guards in our 10 man rotation would combine for 44 which is exactly what they scored. Add 6 more for CJ who looked finer than a frog-hair out there today. I like his upside and he will be also special of the defensive end which 3G likes. As the Season progresses, such quality depth could be the gift that keeps on giving.

Watched the replay on ESPN. Watch the entire possession on Austin's last 3, it's hilarious. He's calling for the ball by wildly waving either 1 or both arms pretty much the entire possession from defensive rebound until McDuffie finds him.

He was hot, he knew it, and he wanted the ball. NOW.

                Good stuff.

Johnson is good but he averages 30 +minutes a game. Our guys average less than 20 minutes. Our team is balanced. MSU has a few talented players but not our depth and balance. As Marshall said, Johnson may get the POY because of more points and shots but he isn't better than Willis.

Edit: Gregg didn't say Johnson's name but he he did reference players with twice the minutes and shots winning POY

He was so hot, he wishes he was not in foul trouble with 4 fouls or more 3's were coming down the pike today. How about Austin and Shamet for 3 more years together? Nice!!!!!!!!!!! Even so, what is in store for us yet this Season with all 4 guards and CJ all developing? Dunno, but it must be good things to follow.

                      ,
Marshall ridiculed his outside shooting once, with a smile on his face, he was imitating his shoot off of the back leg. Maybe Shaq was favoring his leg but the one time he did his patented spin move for two points from 4-6' away in the lane, he didn't favor it. That move was quick, he was explosive, and he is money when he concentrates on getting position low with his back to the basket. He needs to do this more often.

Marshall said that? Look, I'm the guy that says there very few players in the Valley that could even make WSU's team.

I'm not saying he's better or worse than Willis. Willis is a stud. But Johnson is athletic, can shoot the 3, very effectively, is an active rebounder and is getting better all the time. He's a tough matchup for a lot of people and an excellent and improving basketball player.

HCGM didn't say Johnson by name. He mentioned that our guys may not get POY or NCOY because they share the ball and don't put up a lot of minutes.

Johnson is probably the Bears best player since Weems. He is 6-9, very athletic plays with a lot of energy. Believe me, I'm no MSU fan but this kid is a good player.

Hey stickboy, when you get a chance, can you go over to bradleyfans and correct that dumbass tornado that was whining about us having all 5 starters in at the 5 minute mark. I checked and Hamilton, Nurger, Frankamp, Brown, and Shamet was in there. That's 2 by my watch. Not to mention that our bench logged more combined minutes than our starters. We had 16 guys play and had walk-ons in there with 4 minutes left. What did he want us to do? Play the mangers and waterboys?

How about this? Stop sucking so bad to where you aren't worried about opposing teams playing any starters with 5 minutes left while your team is down 40 (again).

                              ... No really, deuces.
