Hawkins is hobbling around with an icepack on his ankle. Don't know if ISU could survive having him and McIntosh out.

A needed D- slump buster

Drake hung in there for a while. They quit making shots and it looked like they let their offense affect their defense.

Nice bounce back for ISU. Paris Lee decided he had had enough and took over. The severity of Hawkins ankle injury will be a big factor moving forward.

The seven footer looked good tonight. He's only a sophomore and has some potential. He and 6-9 Phil Fayne are in the same class. They're going to need some guards next year, but two nice pieces to build around.

I believe Evans is a sophomore as well. He and the two big guy have the makings of a good group down the road for them.

I'm going to back peddle here...NDiaye scored 6 points tonight, which is 2 more than his previous high against D-I competition. He's still tall though.

He's raw for sure. They will have some talented players around him for the next couple of years though so they may not need him to score much, just protect the rim and rebound. ISU will lose Lee and Hawkins so i'm sure there will be some drop off next year but it probably won't be a huge drop.

Drake is deplorable. They had a cute little 5 or 6 game run but they're still the same team that lost at home to a SWAC team. Good effort runts.

Indeed -- it's never good to take a pounding, but if it happens, it's important not to let one game beat you twice, and the Jailbirds didn't. By the way, a rare tip of the hat to Dan Muller for not whining about the debacle or sniping at Marshall for returning the time-out favor. He got whomped and took it like a man -- if you want to get mad, don't get down 40 -- good for him.
