Can anyone remember the last time the MVC had three legitimate teams in a given season?

Feels like forever since the last time that MVC #3 was remotely close to MVC #2 or #1. It's either been CU-WSU, UNI-WSU, and ISUr-WSU, for what seems like a decade now.

The MVC would be completely tolerable if we could somehow add formaldehyde to UNI '14-'16, ISUr '17, SIU early '00's, and then throw in some reasonable consistency to MSU for good measure. Bonus points for Bradley if they could figure out how to get out of their slump and return to historic relevance.

I think it's been more than a decade. 2005-06 was really a monster year. 4 teams in the dance. MSU and UNI missed the dance, but both had 20 win seasons. The following year, WSUs implosion year, was close. Four 20 win teams...back in the day when you weren't allowed to play in an exempt tourney every year.

2006, maybe 2007. Although I kind of feel Evansville could've been a 3rd legit team last year if their coach was Jim Crews and not Marty Simmons. Tragic waste of Mock and DJ.

Except last year UNI wasn't the real deal until well after their at large hopes were dashed.
