It's not out of the question that after Wednesday's game, Missouri State, Drake and Bradley are tied for 3rd with Indiana State and UNI 3 games back after 5 tied for last.

What a conference. Truly the Valley of Death.

A little disappointed in Missouri State fans. They are just kind of accepting that they suck. Like the fat chick at the bar nobody wants, that's Missouri State now. It used to be fun to watch them melt down, now they just don't even post much.

They still might beat a few teams, kinda like the lonely fat chick that bags a drunk sailor at last call, they're just done thinking that the sailor thought they were hot.

The problem with him is that "relatively competitive" thing.

He is a mediocre coach who has never taken a team to the NCAAs in 15 years of head coaching, and that isn't going to change anytime soon. He is doing a poor job of recruiting and maintaining good players, and he is also awful at scheduling, preferring to fatten up on patsies if he can; he and his mediocre brethren in the Valley are why the Valley is in the state it's in.

The consensus among most SIU fans is that we'd better off with some hungry young assistant. Say, do you guys have one of those we could hire? :biggrin-new:

Barry is a fine coach. Not the greatest coach, but the perfect coach for a team that wants to be relatively competitive on the cheap. From what I understand, SIU is pretty cash poor right now, so Barry is a perfect fit.

That said, I thought Missouri State fans treated Barry completely unfairly. When I stood up and defended him, they came unglued and trolled me. Relentlessly. It was funny, actually. I mean, if you want to rassle a pig.... I warned them that they could suck by playing coaching carousel, they scoffed. They guranteed me that Missouri State would be back to the dance in less time than Barry had coached there. All this crap about their great history. Great school. Great town. Great benefactors. On and on. Well, it's past their time frame for getting to the dance, JQH is dead and his company is bankrupt. I laugh, while Bee, Trout, glm, all those assholes are completely triggered! It's awesome!

I guess I don't love Barry as much as I love watching them wallow in their missery.
