One thing about a game like this it could pay dividends down the road when the Shocks find themselves in similar circumstances in a tight game down the stretch. I say when and not if because I think there is a good chance we will have a few more of these kind of games this year. I will take the same result we got tonight every time.

Our foes will never know which one of our 10 rotation players will step up to the pump when we need go-to moments. Like tonight, on one volleyball play, 3 Shockers combined to make 1 huge play. In close hard fought road games, this really spoke volumes that we really want success and will play hard and together to get it.

Yeah, this was one of the first games this year where I felt like we clearly outworked an opponent in the way that's brought us so much success in the Marshall Era. My favorite thing about his teams is the effort they bring and I'm glad to see that developing in this year's version.

Despite Shamet's freshman mistake on that play, Marshall relied on him for 34
minutes, the most on the team. 4 assists, 2 steals, ZERO turnovers in his first conference
road game. Two clutch free throws in the closing minutes when it really counted.
But clearly low bbiq. Right

only 7 minutes for Nurger

The problem is who to sit down. Duff and Willis were very good tonight.

And you don't want to slide either Willis or Nurger to the 4 with Van Scoyoc playing the 4. He can get hot and kill you from 3 and then drive if you only watch the 3. Duff was great at the 4 and can guard the 4 and as tepid as Kelly is on offense, he is pretty versatile as a defender at the 4. Shaq needs to get motivated though or he may sit a lot more than he is used to.

Good win on the road. Opening on the road against ISUB gave me a little concern - not knowing which ISUB and WSU teams would show up. Willis is going to be a monster.

I believe Nurger came in at the 16:18 mark (45-44 Shocks) and exited at the 10:06 mark (58-50 Shocks, had been 58-47 and we had the ball).

He may have had all of his 4 points, 5 boards and 4 blocks in that time.

Zach Brown only had 6 points because he couldn't hit a three, but he did have 8 rebounds, and his best statistic was probably that Brenton Scott was 3-14 and ended up with 14 points. He averages almost 20 per game.
