This is really impressive regardless of opponent and their game plan. It's hard not to have 3-5 team rebounds go against you in those situations. Pretty good indicator that guys were still giving solid effort in a blow out.

    • 10 games, 8 different point leaders. McDuffie twice, Morris twice.

Only Reaves and Shamet, perhaps our 2 most dynamic scorers, have yet to lead the team in scoring.

I wonder if EVER there's been a WSU that had 10 different players lead them in scoring in 1 year.

I suspect it's a pretty rare occurrence period.

Translation for us old school Shockernetters: Shaq got hit squarely in the grapes.

            9. Shamet tied for the lead in scoring against UMES. I'm confident Reaves will one of these days. Just needs to earn himself a few more minutes.

that's what I thought initially... he played it off much better than most people!

                  • Aside from the pathetic display of basketball from SLU, this game was frustrating to me from the stand point that it did NOTHING to get this team ready for the 2 biggest games we have left. I would almost bet a large sum of $$ WSU comes out flat Saturday. Not because they aren't capable, but just like when they beat LSU by 30, the mental side says "its easy".

No doubt. Those are just confounding, silly turnovers. Daishon and Landry are most guilty and should know and do better in this regard. But really, the Bigs are doing far too often as well with the exception of Shaq. He's got some nice instincts.

Interestingly, our 2 skinniest players. I've noticed that both of these guys have to be more creative to finish in traffic, they could both benefit from some serious off-season workouts/weight gain diets.

I'm wondering how many points Austin will score once he takes 10 shots in a game. Seems as though he deferring to the upperclassmen much of the time. When you're shooting over 50% from anywhere on the floor three shots is not enough.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Neither player has any fear, so when that happens watch out. I was really disappointed that we didn't get a Shamet poster dunk last night. He was on his way until the st louis player decided to make no attempt on the ball and just tackled him out of the air

This is a tricky line of thinking. I'd like to see Reaves up his minutes and shots. At the same time, I think it's worth giving Reaves credit that one of the reasons he is shooting so well is that he is identifying very good shots to take. Still, his efficiency numbers are just stupid good right now, and it would probably be worth them going down a bit if the usage rate went up.

And I'm not talking about 20 minutes into a 30 point blowout. Even before the game, everybody's just kinda sitting on their hands. Blah. I guess having about 2000 no shows will quiet things down too.

Disclaimer: I was one of the no shows last night. Probably something like the 5th home game I've missed since 87-88 and maybe the 30th since 77. I was sick as hell and didn't want to pass it around.

I'll wear my lack of support.

But now we've been called out by our coach that doesn't take trips up and down the court off. It's past time we as supporters and fans step up our game.....
