If you think attendance doesn't make a difference to a program and to it's future via recruiting, then there isn't much else that you could say that would convince me you're going to have much to add to any conversation I may be interested in, so go ahead and stick me on that block list as well.

As others have mentioned, this bad schedule is all about the opponents vastly underperforming. I don't have time to find the proof, but there were some who suggested before the season that we could have the top-ranked strength of schedule. Long Beach is always pretty strong. South Dakota State was a 30s RPI team last year. St. Louis is usually competitive. South Carolina State was picked second in their conference. Eastern Shore was maybe third or fourth. There is nothing wrong with the schedule. Those teams just suck right now.
On a somewhat related question, this made me think about Atlantis. I was PISSED when Louisville was screwing around with Old Dominion, having to win it in overtime. That nearly cost us a chance at a really, really good win. Well, we got that chance and didn't win. How different would we feel had we beat Old Dominion and lost to Baylor? I am guessing that we would feel a bit better about the team but pissed at a missed opportunity to not play Louisville. Of course, in that alternate reality, we would not have known that we would have ultimately lost to Louisville.78-65

Mark me in the crowd that would rather sit home and enjoy the game from the comfort of his cushy couch on his big screen tv where he can see the whole game, instead of being blocked out by a bunch of morons standing up and cheering and being obnoxious the entire game. That, and dealing with parking and all that jazz. no thanks, I don't do big crowds, and I'm just fine. Why can't people understand that not everybodys life is devoted to going to a game and cheering a team on.

[Talking about getting a job playing with Ronnie Hawkins] He called me up, and I said, "Sure I'd like a job. What does it mean? What do I do?" And he said, "Well, son, you won't make much money, but you'll get more ***** than Frank Sinatra."

We have a winner!
I'm not really excited about parking somewhere east of Eck, walking to CKA in sometimes unpleasant weather, going to the Ticket Office, finding that the game is sold out, walking back to my car, driving back home, watching the game on TV and seeing 400 empty seats in GA.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Assuming that due to the SGA agreement, the athletic department's hands are tied in regards to limiting the number of student tickets, the reasonable course of action at this point is to increase the time frame between the game and when GA seats are offered to the public. It's currently 48 hours, which isn't much time to sell nearly an entire section of the arena. Increase it to a week, then the AD has time to do advertising blitzes--radio and TV ads included.
Sell the seats. The students don't want them--they have made that loud and clear. I don't know why we are trying to give people something they don't want.

My scattered thoughts:
One could argue the game management team has all but quit trying.
There are no unique versions of the national anthem and a lack of halftime entertainment.
A few years ago they started messing with organic crowd energy by sponsoring three point shots and dunks.
Then the band has been bumped for a lot of promotions at key points in the game.
RPI is about the last way to tell how good a future opponent is going to be. The first four games this year were poorly coached (do not buy all the BS MK will tell you about how well coached these teams are) and had bad basketball players. I would rather play a non-athletic team that plays fundamental basketball.
Our team has tons of potential, but playing teams that are not fundamentally sound is limiting our ability to improve.
Also, I am old now because of my next comment.. My son drinks approximately one sip of water at a game. You have to spend $3.50 for a cup for that sip of water. I could understand charging if I wasn't buying anything else, but my concessions bill is close to $20 before the water.
Finally, you can watch from home. There is no way my whole family wants to go to a game. So staying home would let me avoid one of the stickiest family issues. I still make the choice to go for now, but I watched the game on WatchESPN while doing some work last night and I found myself saying the game with replays, stats, and interviews was more entertaining than being there.
All these little things add up to an experience that is less than entertaining. I also thought demand was down significantly last year. It was really hard to dump good seats last year for most games. This isn't a Ron and Fred are gone trend.

This is the 3rd home game I have been to this year and it was by far the worst attendance wise.
Both of the other games my uncle and I gladly snatched up the GA tickets and it was pretty full, One of the sunrise team came and sat next to us and they were having a good time watching WSU players do their thing.
It has definetly gotten worse from last year.
We went to the Evansville game last year when it was a nail biter and wsu won at the end and it was packed!
