  • Time to start selling the student tickets

It is time to tip against SLU and the student section isn't even filled to the band level. There are plenty of season ticket spots open too. But damn.

I know we have finals coming up but this has been bad all season long. I think it is time to stop pretending the students here give a damn.

I don't disagree with your overall point. However, they do sell the remaining student tickets 48 hours before the game.

Which is no good. If someone wants to come they need more notice. They need to start selling the rest of the December tickets today.

My step mom and dad came with me to the game (along with my wife)... All had been to games except my Step mom. She was wondering what the big empty section was.

It was really empty and sad.

It is pitiful that a university with 15,000 students can't fill up the student section. We want to talk about bringing a football team back, and can't fill in a damn student section for an 8-2 team

That was the most pathetic, uninspiring, and unorganized student section I've seen since the mid 1990's.

Bishop Carrroll's student section would OWN that monstrosity.

              ... No really, deuces.

I feel like the setup for the student section is awful compared to other arena's/stadiums etc.

Without them actually being floor level and truly behind the basket, it will never feel as good as others.

It doesn't matter what the set up is if there isn't butts in the seats

I don't know how you improve on being behind the basket on the visitors' end of the arena.

Zach Brown noticed that the students are MIA. He said in a tv interview.

Trying not to use the words pathetic or embarrassing and trying to understand why the students aren't coming out in droves during the greatest run in program history. What is at play here?
Having to pickup the free tickets several times throughout the year? We had to pay a whole $25 for season tix when I was in school and I wish the teams they were trolling out then were as good as St. Louis was tonight. I don't miss those days at all!
Are the students cognitive to the fact that outside of basketball there's really isn't a reason to go to the games? I go for the basketball and non of the other stuff really matters to me but you can't help but notice they have no halftime acts any more and the same old tired sponsors acts during time outs have run their course and every kind of shot has a sponsor now.
Is it bad opponents? Bad conference if this continues? Again trying not use insults but spoiled & victim of our own success are the only things that come to mind. I know blowouts can be a little boring but at least the Shox are on the right end of it.
Bringing me to, do they want only nail biting games? I watched a lot of bad basketball games that were close and that didn't makeup for the bad basketball I had to witness.
Is Wichita getting to many attractions? I'm somewhat tongue & cheek here but are there more things going on campus & in town nowadays that sports gets kicked down the rung these days?
                        Just trying to understand...
If you're not going to go all the way, why go?

students seats extend to the floor and actually allow them to make noise and be right up behind the camera people like some other arena's. The brick wall seems to create a void.

Reduce the number of student reserved seats to the one section below the band. Sell the other tix to the public, no student tickets. Let them in until its full, then sell the rest of the unsold GA tix to students for $5 and full price for anyone else.

I saw Kelley's interview in the post game on KWCH. He said, "I looked up and saw the student section half empty. My first two years here, no matter who we played that never happened." Students, you have been put on notice. These players give 110% and they came to WSU for a reason, and part of that was the atmosphere at Koch and the fans. Needs to change because the players deserve better than this.
