I guess it hasn't seemed that fishy to anyone in the last decade in which that's been the official story.

These "pre-season" tournaments are preparation. I would be nice to win, but they are preparation for the rest of the season.

I think JH4Ps observations are relevant, but I don't think there is any real insight to be gained. Versus HCGMs outstanding performance since 2011, early season exempt tournaments have not been on the same level.

They're the only chance we have to group together several games vs Top 100 teams. Win or lose, they increase our SOS with teams we would never lure to Wichita.

As someone who spent 30 years analysing business plans, business results, budgets, sales plans, sales forecast, ect, I appreciate H4P approach. Don't understand the 'throw up' comment. Life is a like a box of chocolates only if you don't develop some type of filter to run experiences through. Things like Fred's injury needs to be A factor but not ingnored.

What's WSU's NCAA Tournament history during that same time period?

I literally made a point to say I'm not complaining and agree Marshall has been "wildly successful" at WSU. Thanks for the laughs you two.

Some people just won't be happy unless my only posts are 10,000 word manifestos on why WSU will win the national championship every year for the next decade.

Some people on here don't comprehend that you can be a 'voice of reason' rather than to drink all the kool-aid and be totally in.

I had thought about going to B4A this year. But then I looked at what we would lose going into this year and felt that we would probably go through a rather long transition and the team wouldn't do so well. During this year, I also had some unexpected health problems, which resulted in a reallocation of funds, so it was an easy choice from that perspective. I have been pleasantly surprised by the team's performance, maybe not as good as it looked originally, but they're still a good team searching for a leader. And that may take some time.

Our report card from B4A indicates, to me, that we have a stronger team than what I expected, but it is going through a transition and there are obvious growing pains.

I agree that we have little room for error, but I look at the team and I see a lot of potential. With Marshall's coaching, this potential will be realized and I fully expect us to win in the Lou and make the tourney again.

But it will be close and we as fans need to accept that the wrong kind of loss here and there might result in us being relegated to the NIT.

And it shouldn't be a horrible thing to ask questions regards past and present performance, especially if those questions are based on solid evidence.

Shocka, I agree with your summary. Numbers are numbers and it has always seemed to me that the later the team gets into a season, or for that matter, a game, the better they do. Jamar always does a nice job with the numbers and then lets the posters be the analysts of Shockernet and draw the inevitable conclusions. I'm happy with that!

I really enjoy the posting of both @Jamar Howard 4 President & @ShockerFever - should I seek medical attention or perhaps a psych eval?

                    Serious question.

It's been a ruse all these years. JH4P and Fev are really Siamese twins and LTAO at our perception and response to their keystone cops routine seen on a regular basis here at SN. I figured it out long ago, the rest of you knuckleheads are still on the hook!!!

Throw in WSU's lack of success at Arch Madness. Just because this topic doesn't declare WSU or 3G the greatest thing since sliced bread doesn't mean it's not a valid talking point. No one here is condemning 3G for this topic. Pretty sure all of us here believe 3G walks on water. That doesn't mean we all can't civilly discuss topics such as this.

                              WSU Consistency

The bottom line for me relative to this discussion is this: There are only 5 schools in the US that have made it to the Top 32 at the Dance the last 5 yrs, & WSU is one of those 5 schools.

Yes. Not for thinking it, but for admitting it.
