Our inside game is looking solid. Willis is a grand addition. Actually, all of our new players show promise even at this early juncture. We shant be getting out rebounded much this Season I hope.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Coach said post-season. SC State played in the CIT.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Maybe they were, but I thought he said they played in the post season and didn't mention which tournament.

I can't remember a deeper, more experienced group of 4/5 in the Marshall era. Add in what looks like a group of guards who like to feed the post and drain 3s and we might be onto something sooner than later. Looking forward to seeing them take on the next opponent.

Pretty solid effort throughout the line up although not sure how good of a benchmark SCS was.

Rashard Kelly might end up being a decent ball getter.

Really liked the way the guys who played poorly in the exhibition game bounced back in this one.

Austin Reaves is going to be a fan favorite. Perhaps he already is.

Loved seeing life long Shocker fan Bret Barney have a bit of success. He looks like he can play a little.

            In the post-game 3G said this team doesn't have a starting 5. It has a starting 10.

I remember there being a concern about intensity from this team earlier in the summer. I don't think that is a concern anymore. This team definetly gets "play angry". Should be a fun year!

I wonder if we will have a game this year where 10 guys all play 20 minutes and all score 8 points each.........

Can someone tell me why the game was letter-boxed and not in HD? Was this on everyone's broadcast, or did I watch the wrong channel, channel 22?

Conner needs to look to score, at least sometimes.

                      Zach Brown was better.

Kelly's effort was outstanding. Could have done without a couple of jumpshots, but man he played hard.

                      Shaq is a load.

                      McDuffie is pretty good.

Shamet was quiet but really good defensively.

Nurger did some good things. Shooting the 3s wasn't one of the good things.

Willis made a quantum leap from game 1 to game 2. He's going to be incredible before he's done.

Hamilton was surprising in that he was really under control a lot. Outstanding game for him.

Keyser had some good feet, good defense. Young man, when you're holding the ball and 8k goober fans that have never played the game scream at you to shoot the 3, my advice, pass the ball.

Reaves, as I've been saying for a month plus now, is a serious stud. Frankamp needs to step up his game.

Smith, very fast. Not the best defensive positioning.

Reaves, Brown, McDuffie, Kelly and Shaq could put on Kentucky unis and wouldn't be out of place.

I thought our defensive effort was excellent.

This team moves and shares the ball at a very, very high level.

They are exceedingly fun to watch.

There are question marks for sure, and lots of room for improvement, but they have a pretty darned high ceiling.

But a reality check is coming Sunday night. We better be ready or the good feelings will evaporate.

I think maybe Conner wants to be more than the guy with the weight of the team on his shoulders. I don't know him and I'm 3500 miles away, but I have been in a similar situation and sometimes is nice to be able to step back and not be "the guy".

Really? He was 1-2. 50% is pretty good, especially compared to the rest of the team.

Conner was the point guard and his team won by 40! Mission accomplished!

Great start! Let's not overreact after the first game against an obviously overmatched opponent, but wow that was pretty basketball.
                              Thoughts:
                              - The passing really stood out to me. Some of the better ball movement I've seen from the shockers in quite some time.
                              - Nurger looks like a man. That 13 lbs of muscle made a huge difference. Shaq better figure out the foul issue, because Nurger could be pushing the starting lineup if he keeps it up.
                              - We have Reeves and Lamet for the next 4 years 😀
                              - This could be a year our front court is our foundation. How strange.
