Pretty good game for the opener. Rebounding was solid and I thought we played decent on the defensive end. Nurger and Kelly looked solid and we will need them to be this year. Shaq was solid as was Shamet. Get Reeves in the weight room and look out, he's going to be special. All in all we have a team that could be pretty good come January.

WTF do you even say about putrid ineptitude like that? This conference will continue to be a ball and chain around our leg while we swim for our lives.

Solid win. Much better flow than last Saturday. Everybody seemed pretty solid.

We are DEEP. It's a good problem to have.

3-point shooting was pretty horrific but our best shooters didn't seem to be taking them.

Need similar effort on Sunday night.

AR has a great feel for the game. Notice too that the ball doesn't stick in his hands very long.
Thought Landry played a very solid, controlled ball game.
Conner was solid but he has got to shoot the ball.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

              Pure garbage.

              Too big for our britches?

              LOL.

Yep. The team's defense was unrecognizable (in a good way) compared to what I have seen out of them from Canada to the scrimmage to the exhibition game. And SC St. was supposed to have a pretty decent offense with a couple of good veteran guards.

I was very happy with WSU's performance tonight. Saw some seeds of Play Angry in a lot of guys.

All issues but predicting a loss at home to a MEAC school was a bit over the top though. Glad they proved you wrong.

If everything clicks, there's a real chance this is Marshall's deepest and most athletic team in his tenure at WSU. I'm not even sure where a person would nitpick tonight. We are freaking loaded for bear.

Next year we add a crazy athletic jitterbug PG and a literal big man with an NBA body at 18 y/o. It's a great time to be a Shocker... still.

The key tonight is that we played ANGRY for 40 minutes 1-15 (however many players played). Gregg Marshall can sure teach defense and selfless attitudes.

Meh. I'm certainly not surprised we won. But I thought it could be dicey. SC St. did not look as good as I thought they might be. And we looked WAAAY better.

Willis needs to get comfortable fast. And quit eating the triple butter popcorn before the game. But I agree that there was about as much positive as you can get from a game like that tonight.

My only concern from tonight was the 3 point shooting.

Flagship lost 103-99. A defensive battle.

Coach said they returned 4 starters from an NCAA team. Maybe it was more us being good than them being bad. We will see soon enough.
