This season I have low expectations. Maybe I won't be let down. I might even be surprised.

One thing is for certain, win or lose my family will be there cheering on the Shocks.

      PG- Conner
      SG- Landry
      SF- Zach Brown
      PF- Markis
      C- Shaq

First five off the bench: Darral, Rashard, Peyton, Rauno and Daishon

The MVC Opening Starting Five will be tall, athletic, physical and dominating:

PG - Austin: as he is a true point guard and will have learned the system and earned the start
      SG - Landry
      SF - Markis
PF - Darral: as he will have morphed into Carl Hall v2.0
      C - Shaq

First five off the bench will be Conner, Zach Brown, Rashard, Peyton and Rauno

By the start of Arch/March Madness CJ will have demonstrated he is TC v2.0 and average more than 8 minutes playing time per tournament game.

And, if God answers my prayers, the experience laden 2017-2018 Shocker roster will deserve a Top Ten Ranking in the AP Poll and play in a conference other than the MVC.
Hard to argue, but my prayer would be that Smith beats out Conner for the opening day PG position.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Regardless of who we would put on our fantasy team, it will be hard to beat out Rashard Kelly this year. He does things that the coaching staff likes.

Uh-oh -- the new Evan Wessel. Let the complaints begin.

Bold prediction: we pull off an OT upset win over LVille, lose to Michigan State in the finals of B4A, and that's our only OOC loss. Win the MVC by 4 games, with one less to either UNI or ISUR. Win the valley tourney and get a 2 seed. Make it to at least the sweet sixteen.

Real prediction: lose to LVille, OU, CSU 1 loss to UNI and ISUR each. Win MVC by two games. Who knows about the valley tourney. Make it to the round of 32 in March.

As much sense as it makes to have AR and CK redshirt, I really hope that they don't. I've been really excited to see CK play since last year.

                OOC starting 5:
                Connor - pg
                Landry - sg
                Zach Brown - sf
                Mcduffie - pf
                shaq - c

                MVC starting 5
                Smith
                Landry
                McDuffie
                Willis
                Shaq

My first thought is that maybe one of AR and CK redshirt but not both. Watching the games in Canada I don't think Peyton can gurad the 2 spot and therefore will have to play the 3 (I hope I'm wrong). If that is the case we only have 3 players: Conner, Landry and Daishan to cover the 1 and 2, that's not enough when 2 of those players aren't Ron and Fred with Conner last year. This necessitates that there will be minutes for either AR or CK, but probably not both.

I will predict that we finish the regular season at 28-3 with one of those losses coming either to Louiville or Mich. State, one conference loss and the third one a toss up if another non-conf game or second conf. loss. We will lose in the finals of the Valley tournament and then make a run to the Elite 8 and lose a great game. Markis will have a breakout year and will win Valley player of the year. Landry will be freshman of the year, and AR will make the all freshman team. I have thought from the very beginning that this is a kid who will eventually be a huge star here at WSU, and will be the biggest surprise of the season in spite of his slender build and being a little behind due to the surgery.

My prediction is that I believe I will watch every game we play with the expectation that we can and will WIN!!

And that is a great feeling.

Excellent prediction. Given the IGWT (In Gregg We Trust) history based upon his track record and the talent of the teams, winning every is possible and should be everyone's expectation. I apologize that my post may not have given such an impression.

                          2016-17

The talent is there to have a special season. Actually, this is the most talent in the paint since the Cle, Coleby and Chadrack days.
However, without a true leader its like the Bud Light race boat without a rudder.

The real question is who steps forward?
                          A RS Frosh?
                          A hometown KU transfer?
                          First year JuCo?

HCGM earns his cash this season by finding the answer.

                          That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

damn.. he didn't have those biceps and shoulders last year. he's probably quicker now.

23 wins is almost a guarantee. if they get solid point guard play by march, arch madness is theirs, just because..

at least one win in the ncaa tournament.
