"Charles Koch Arena doesn’t normally top the ever-popular “Toughest places to play” lists of Division I arenas. But in reality, the Wichita State Shockers have been almost unbeatable there over the last few years. Since the start of the 2011-12 season, Wichita State is 81-4 at home, good for a .953 winning percentage...."

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Personally, that's one of the reasons I'd hate to see them try to raise the roof to increase capacity and skyboxes. I get the need for skyboxes and there's probably a way to do that without screwing up the "atmosphere" (Love what they did with Arrowhead and it remains the NFL's loudest stadium) but the extra capacity would be wasted. I mean, look at the empty seats in CKA this year alone. This is a freaking awesome college basketball teams and each game day we're discussing the lack of fans in the seats. Imagine an additional 2k or 4k available seats.

Good point, steele. Keep the existing seats or maybe add a few more (the Intrust crowds suggest that there's a potential market of more than 10,500 in town, some of whom aren't CKA season ticketholders -- although probably not for Southern Nazarene); add skyboxes; and let people who actually want to come to the games bid on the seats now held by the skybox crowd.
There should be fewer obvious blank spots (no one will see into the skyboxes to judge how full they are), and the big money dilettantes won't need to tell the people in front of them to sit down, because they'll be safely up out of the way. It's a win all around.
