The committee should also give a guideline for non-P5+1 conferences on what their teams need to do to have the best shot of making the Dance since they do not have the luxury of playing a bunch of top 50 games, winning maybe 1 of every 3 or 4 to get in the tourney.

We may not like what they say, but at least we would know and make decisions accordingly.

Was watching the ISU game and one of the commercials was for the ESPN tournament challenge. They flashed up a few logos and of course WuShock came up. Then they flashed up a bracket in the background, it had Wichita State paired up with .... Creighton, and Wichita was the one selected to win.

Not really media love, but our logo seems to be a really popular one

Wichita State arrived in Indianapolis Wednesday night preparing for its first round game in the NCAA tournament. Shockers don’t play until Friday night, roughly around the same time that Kansas and Kansas State plays.

The shockers face off against Dayton, another efficient mid-major program. Head Coach Gregg Marshall has great respect for the flyers, saying “We’re going to have to guard them. We’re going to have to make shots. We’re going to have to be as tough as we possibly can because they’re very tough. We’re going to have to take care of the basketball. They get some steals and run outs so our offense, our ball-handling, our shot-selection were key to keep them out of transition. Because they’re elite in transition.”

At some point, the committee has got to recognize that the good mid-majors are every bit, if not better than, the middle and upper middle P5 schools. Once you get past the top 5 programs, there is much more parity across conferences than they want to admit, regardless of RPI.
