That's an issue that may never get solved.

That doesn't make him wrong. Solve the problems you have now before you go inventing new ones.

You mean "problems" like giving supply to demand?

          In short, no.

If you want to add some revenue, fix the embarrassment that is the baseball program.

          ... No really, deuces.

Why are we confusing student attendence with an increase in reserved seating capacity? Do students - the ones with access to effectively free tickets - populate the huge waiting list for season tickets?

I'm hoping it's not the case, but I'm betting we see even more holes in the student section now that FVV, Ron, and Evan are gone. I don't think that's an issue that needs to be "solved." Shrink the student section to the point that it's actually full regularly, and maybe even somewhat competitive to get seats. Not like some sort of battle, but on a first come first served basis, with a limited number available. Limited enough that they will "sell out." If they're not there in time, they get to fight the same battles as the rest of us non-season ticket holders searching for seats.

If you aren't absolutely packing the arena, you need to figure out how to do that for a while before expanding capacity makes sense. However you want to go about it, that's the problem that needs solved.

Add baseball as another problem needing solved, as @ShockerFever: points out.

Also note, if you can't get 800 students to come watch a Top 10 D1 WSU basketball team, on campus, for free, I hope you aren't counting on stellar student turnouts for a losing FCS team in 40 degree weather.

Start with the problems you have before inventing new ones.

If the boost in revenue is necessary just reseat the arena with doubled prices. I'm speaking from the point of view of making Koch Arena the best it can be. A packed 12k arena might be possible and would be pretty sweet. A 12k arena with a pocket of 500 empty seats would look awful.

Doubled prices? That would go over like a lead balloon.

If we're really hard up for cash, we can have a fantasy camp. Guys would be puking and crying after one of Marshall's conditioning sessions.

Conditioning sessions at a fantasy camp? Beer breaks would be more likely. At least if you really are looking to raise some cash. 3G understands that you have to cater to your target market.

I am quite sure that '72 has been a frequent attendee of the basketball auction and knows that Shocker Nation loves to party. 🍺🍻🍷🍸🍹🍾

Obviously I am not an artist or draftsman, nor am I an architect or engineer. It seems like an entirely separate structure could be built around the existing structure that would support the old roof, a new concourse above the top row of the existing CKA seating and addiitionally support executive suites on that concourse and 3-4 rows of seats below the boxes. With approximately 350 seats around the current top row, 3-4 rows could add 1,000-1,400 seats in addition to the suite seats.
