How does one only play 120 minutes for the season and come up with those numbers and often disappear?

He also had good numbers in games he played longer: Charleston 15 minutes, 13 points, 7 rebounds; Iowa 17 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebounds; Nevada 12 minutes, 6 points; Bradley 8 minutes, 4 points, 3 rebounds; in 2 Mo St games played 10 minutes, 11 points, 3 rebounds. For the season, he played in 21 games and scored in all but 5. He only played an average of 2.8 minutes in those 5 games.
He's his worst enemy. No lacking for talent, but, GOSH, I hope he "gets it" this year. He would be a montser--as someone has already stated

He plays good one on one, but to me, he also was put into games and he just ran up and down the court. He looked like a puppy dog without a clue about how to contribute to others successes. Ty Taylor was good at this too imo. But if all you look at is statistics, you probably think he will be the next AA. I will agree that talent wise, he could be that good.
I think I acknowledged that he's having trouble with the plays. I've even seen other players yank him over into position. I also allowed him a little slack for being a freshman. He not only runs up and down the court (for a big man, that can be a good thing) he also hustles and doesn't mind diving for loose balls (not something a lot of big men do).

      Hamilton vs HI Pac.jpg

Hot a FEW times? The only games he didn't score were 5 games he played a average of less than 3 minutes. For the season, he shot 52.3% FG and 36.4% 3pt. He had 6 games where he shot less than 50% going 2-14, just over 2 shots a game. He had 12 games where he shot 50% or better going 21-30 or 70%.

I have no idea about him being an AA. I have heard many on here say that big men take longer to develop. I think that's very true. I hope we can review this conversation when Eric has had time to develop as a junior/senior, if he's still here. If he is, that probably means he got it figured out because he has most of the rest of the tools.

I know it's a small sample size for Hamilton, but he shot better from 3 than Frankamp. I haven't checked all the stats, but Baker, like Frankamp, shot 35% from 3 in MVC play.

I'm not counting on much from Hamilton next year. An inherent BBIQ does not seem to accompany his physical assets. He could be an explosive scorer as a role player next year. There won't be much of a scout on him.

I'm giving him another year to figure out how the plays work and what he's supposed to do and where he's supposed to be. I think he will be an absolute stud in his Jr. and Sr. seasons. Worth keeping him on scholarship for the potential he could bring if he can learn to play smart (Marshall-style) ball.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

MM at the four! Villanova just showed 4 out and 1 in can win you a national championship. I don't see many fours guarding MM and most teams can not run plays for their fours.

              oh, yeah..

gregg has a lot of talent on hand. plus, van vleet and baker, god bless 'em, showed the youngsters what defense is supposed to be about (remember shaq getting on the floor for that loose ball?)

man, villanova reminded me of wichita state at their best (like, last january). right down to that last shot.

Our F4 team did it too.
                Starters
                Hall 6' 8
                Early 6'8
                Cotton 6'3
                Baker 6'4
                Armstead 6'
Hall was our only true post and he faced the basket occasionally. All others were perimeter players who could rebound.
Only EO on our bench was a post. Wiggins, FVV, Demetrick were all perimeter players.

                  2016-17 could look like this:
                  Morris 6'8
                  McDuffie 6'9
                  Brown 6'6
                  Shamet 6'5
                  Frankamp 6'2

Potential to be very similar skill wise, but bigger.

                    Your projected lineup

Why would Marshall recruit a 1st Team Juco All-American in Daryl Willis to play the 4 here & then play McDuffie there instead?

Where has it ever been reported that Marshall said that Willis was recruited to play the 4? I've consistently heard from him that Willis could play either the 4 or the 5.

It's no secret that we play more than 5 players.

                            Correction

Correction to something I reported above: Darrylyn Willis is a 3rd team All-American, not a 1st teamer.

My memory has most of the team taller than listed:

Frankamp is 6-1, Shamet is 6-4, McDuffie is 6-8.
