It won't be quite as dramatic as the 2010 Maui Invitational, but it is still pretty urgent. For at-large purposes, the Shockers HAVE to beat LSU. A win sets up a bout with Louisville and another matchup with likely with Michigan State, VCU, or Baylor...all of which would be solid. If the Shockers lose, they likely play Old Dominion and then maybe a decent opponent (Baylor/VCU) or maybe not (St. John's).78-65

The winner/loser of Louisville/ODU will play the winner/loser of Wichita State/LSU at Battle 4 Atlantis, sources told @CBSSports.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

I am pretty jazzed - this was the best bracket scenario we could have reasonably hoped for, especially with the turnaround for the Louisville/ODU winner noted by @ShockerFever: above. Should be an awesome three days of hoops surrounding the holiday.

Oh well, I guess we'll settle for ESPN2.Deuces Valley.

B4A is going to be completely up for grabs. Hard to say who the favorite is. Louisville lost their two best scorers and big-man Onuaku to the draft. Michigan State lost practically everyone from last year (Valentine, Costello, Forbes, Deyonta Davis), they're team is basically going to return TumTum Nairn from Sunrise and Matt McQuaid. Baylor lost Taurean Prince and Rico Gathers, hard to say how good they'll be without those two. VCU lost Melvin Johnson (17 PPG) and Billbury (11 PPG). LSU of course lost Ben Simmons and second-leading scorer Keith Hornsby from an already inconsistent bunch. Old Dominion lost their two best players. St. John's will be better but that's not saying much.
Of course, everyone will be saying the same thing about our squad. Should be an exciting tournament...

"#122 LSU Men's Basketball 2016-2017 Preview" - College Sports Madness
Top 144 Reviews
"LSU was supposed to be a very good team in 2015-2016. They had the best recruit in the country in Ben Simmons and a host of other players who were, or are, pretty good. There was good reason for the high expectations. Simmons did not disappoint, but the Tigers were just never able to put all of the pieces together. Their terribly inconsistent season ended with a 19-14 overall record and they were left out of the NCAA Tournament. Antonio Blakeney was one of the bright spots on the team. As a freshman last season he averaged 12.6 points per game and was the most prolific outside shooter on the team. With plenty of scoring to go around this year, expect Blakeney to have a big sophomore season. But he will need some help...."

Oh, I know, they'll realize what they did and drop our seeding so that we play Louisville or MSU in the first game.
