Here is one of my pet peeves - you typed "r" instead of "are" you saved yourself two whole letters. Just like when people use "2" instead of "to" one whole letter. Are we too freaking lazy we can't type two additional letters?

Possibility: They don't know the difference between "to", "two", and "too" and therefore just go with "2" to hide ignorance. I find it hard to believe some posters on Shockernet are college educated. The spelling, punctuation and word usage is pretty bad. But then again it's the "younger" crowd and us "old foggies" don't know what is IN. If bad English usage is in, then leave me out. I often wonder what type of jobs these people have -- obviously not ones where the written language is used. I often felt that "texting" is the root of all things evil when it comes to communication.

I will be interested to see what the written word looks like in another 10 to 15 years if we keep going down on this same road.

I think some people need to learn the difference between bitching about something and commenting on something. You keep posting the way you want and I will post the way I want and I WILL continue to comment on anything I want. That should make us both happy. As long as the BAD USAGE is at least decipherable and I can get the gist of what you are saying, I'm okay with whatever you want to post. However, there have been some posts that are totally unintelligible -- can't understand a thing that is written.
