  • Perhaps Joe Auer, his coach at Wichita Heights, captured Evan's impact on a team: "he (Evan) leaves everything better than when he found it."

    • Three 30 point wins in a row is astounding. The best part is that we jump out to big first half leads and we expand those leads in the second.

I've said it before but I really like the way Zach is stepping forward. Seems to be accepting the mantle of leadership.

Anton's recent shooting performances have reduced my "big man" concerns. Not eliminated, but reduced.

It is very obvious that ball movement is key to our offensive success. Everytime the ball gets sticky we struggle.

Lastly, towards the end of the MSU beatdown with our youngsters playing well I glanced down at the end of the bench. There sat Mr. Shamet and Mr. Allen. Our future's so bright.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

      • I like how everyone is playing right now. For three games in a row, the right plays is attempted. Not always successful, but the percentages are playing out in massive wins.

Great to see the vets playing so well.

          • I have to admit, I wanted a 50 point win. Called off the dogs a little early for me. :)

              • Here's your big radio break, Ricky -- call tomorrow and ask.

Edit: I'm also pleased to see LeFred attacking the basket with a little less abandon, and I think it's helping. For one thing, his teammates seem less inclined to stand and watch him; for another, it seemed as though opponents were playing a little bit of rope-a-dope with him, coming up tight to deny his outside shot and tempting him to drive, then closing down in the lane without having to pay for it because their bigs were never getting called for fouls even if they made contact with him. It also helps that his teammates are stepping up and doing a better job offensively themselves, which makes FVV feel less like he has to make everything happen.

                • Zach is on a tear and at the right time of the year.

His confidence is up. Way up.

What is wrong with the chart below?

The last time I called in, the call went to the Coach Marshall Show.

I apologized for picking Creighton in some game against the Shockers. I think it was the Pick 'Em contest. The Shockers won.

You would have to have a gun on me to make me call the post game call in show. (Yes, I know it is a horrible sentence.)

                    • Hey guys, just wanted to apologize for the pathetic display of basketball my Trees put on today. I mean, the Shocks were good, but our whole team, including the coaches, have been mailing it in now for going on a month. It's disgusting and it's sad we're back to being a drag on the conference. At least your team had the pride to put a serious hurt on us. Lansing's bunch deserved it. It's a sad time to be a Sycamore basketball fan.

Our new AD has a difficult job ahead of him - rebuilding a basketball program. One bright side, though, all three external finalists were adamant that men's basketball HAS to be successful. There is no room for what's going on right now. That gives me a little hope.

Anyway, now that we're done with your team, I can sit back and enjoy the last games for Fred and Ron. My goodness it's been fun watching them and all their teams have accomplished. When everyone else around the Valley was bitching about the Shockers a few years back, I could see that HCGM was teaching basketball the way it is supposed to be played. It's been a real pleasure.

                      On to the Final Four!!!

                        • By the way, 33 points is our worst home loss in our D-I history. Our only worse home loss in the last 100 years was a 36 point loss in 1964 to the UCLA Bruins. You're in heady company...

Yes, definitely Marshall's show, Ricky. Might as well get it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak (sorry, Fred).

                            • Lansing is easily the best coach Indiana State has had in the last 30 years and they can barely afford new uniforms. What do they think will happen if they fire him?
