Forbes and one of his players each picked up a technical at a critical point in the game. Those Ts might have been the difference.

From what it sounded like, it was a blown call and the official doubled down by calling technicals. Some said that no technicals or only one technical should have been called. The point is moot, but that is some context.

Bucs trailed the entire game, but cut a 12 point deficit to 1 at the under 12 timeout in the 2nd half.

Went back and forth but had it to 2 again at 5 to go when the Mocs hit a 3. Down 5 ETSU took a 3 and thought they were fouled. Player T, Coach T.

That pretty much sealed it. Can't get a T there. REALLY can't get a 2nd one.

I watched it. ShockRef will probably slap me down for saying this, but the player DID get fouled, badly, and the ref either didn't see it or chose not to call it. The ball wasn't touched by the defender and ended up about ten feet short. The player and coach had good reason to be disgusted by the horribly blown call, but I agree, in that situation, you can't afford to get the T.

East Tennesee State is in the Vegas 16, actually the Vegas 8 because they couldn't get enough teams.

Good for them. I know it's probably not where they want to be, but the extra games and practice time can be huge for a young team.

"Steve Forbes, East Tennessee State: Forbes won 24 games in his first season as a head coach in Division I and should be a perennial contender in the SoCon. A tenacious recruiter when he was an assistant at both Tennessee and Wichita State, Forbes knows how to find players. The Bucs currently have three players on their roster — Peter Jurkin (Indiana), Hanner Mosquera-Perea (Indiana), and Tevin Glass (Wichita State) that were all recruited to play at a significantly higher level before Forbes lured them to East Tennessee State."

Coach Forbes received a large "retention bonus" from ETSU today that basically doubles his pay if he stays.

MSU fans are licking their chops hoping to get HCSF if they can afford to get rid of Lusk. I would be very surprised if they can afford him. IIRC that will bonus will boost his salary above what Lusk makes now.

Forbes can do MUCH better than MSU.

MSU really needs to look for prospects who are not familiar with MSU's program or athletic department.

I heard his name mentioned this morning as a possible KSU replacement.

Better to let a candidate assume there are locker rooms.
