The real point is that we've proven we can move the needle. Might as well give it a go.

Fan vote accounts for 1/3 of the award, so we need to keep doing all we can to give FVV the best odds we can.

Fred is now 2nd place! Long way to go though.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

It allows you to select 3 at a time. Would it be best to select Fred and then the 2 with the lowest totals? Wouldn't that perhaps help lower everyone else's percentage? Is my basic head math correct?

I don't think so myself. I think it's better off to only vote for FVV to get 1 full vote for him, not splitting it essentially.

The more votes that come in that AREN'T for Brogden lowers his percentage. Still voting for Fred will help keep his up. So in a sense, voting for 3, might slightly lower Fred's percentage as well, but not as much as Brogden's. That's my thinking. Any math majors in here? Lol

Voting for others won't change amount of votes, so therefore it won't change percentage. I am sure someone keeps track of the number of votes each guy gets, which is what will ultimately determine the winner of the portion of voting. However, like the Infiniti Challenge, it is much tidier to report percentages than actual votes.

So, as I understand it, vote for Fred and only Fred.

That makes a lot more sense. Thanks.

Thanks for the reminder. Just voted. Someone should bump this once a day so it reminds us old f@%ks!

Why doesn't voting for others change the amount of votes? I would doubt they give each recipient 1/3 of a vote. So long as they are adding 1 vote to each participants vote totals, Fred would gain "share" from the leader faster if you voted for Fred and two others. In other words, the percentages would change faster in FVV's favor.

However, you are correct that one way or another, eventually Fred must have more individual votes than Brogdon or it won't matter.

If we assume that there have been 10,000 votes at this time, then Fred needs about 54 more votes than Brogdon, per day, between now and poll closing on March 21st.

Why would the ShockerNet editing system replace "old folks" with "old f@%ks" ? ;)

Folks requires a trigger warning (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!) so you can go to your safe zone. My safe zone is about a three finger pour of Balvenie Doublewood.

Fred moved into 2nd place last night and believe me it wasn't easy.

Voting for others would help those others but it will lower Fred's vote % in relatively the same amount it lowers Brogdon's %. The only way Fred catches Brogdon is if Fred gets more votes than Brogdon is getting. If Fred and Brogdon are getting an equal number of votes it won't make a lot of difference. It could lower both guys percentages but 32% to 16% is no different than 24% to 12%. The higher number still represents twice as many votes. No reason to help the other guys to maintain or close the gap with Fred. I will continue to vote only for Fred.

Another way to look at is say their are 100 votes and Fred has 20%. If you vote 20 times from Fred only he would then have 33.3% (40/120) of the vote. If you voted 20 times from Fred and 2 other guys Fred would have 25% of the vote (40/160). Either way Fred still has 40 votes. However, in the 2nd scenario the other two guys are each 20 votes closer to Fred then they otherwise would be.
