I agree to some extent. Although I'm pretty sure if you compare stats, it makes RN look likely to blossom into a solid role player more like Aaron Ellis rather than dominant force. I think Stutz was much more of a piece of the puzzle even as a sophomore so he blossomed into a dominant force. I could also argue that Stutz was not on as good of a team when he was a sophomore and there's a chance RN could have put up the same numbers in that landscape. He might not have struggled to crack the lineup as much against those guys... But then I look at Shaq, Rashard, Evan, Anton and Bush and I'm back to square one again.

Shaq is the only sophomore even comparable to Stutz as a sophomore.

Sorry to be the Debbie Downer but I just don't see the talent or ceiling and the comparison to Stutz and Withey??? I could tell right away with Stutz and Paul Miller they had the physical tools and just needed some time. Let's not kid ourselves Stutz was a big time recruit. It's quite possible with his heart, determination and effort that he spends a full career here and I'd be perfectly fine with that. But if I had to venture a guess who might not be returning (there is almost always someone) it would start with him. And of course I'd love to eat crow down the road on this and say to myself WTF were you thinking?

          Zarko Durisic
          Director of International Player Personnel/Scout

Zarko Durisic completed his 18th season with the Timberwolves organization where he heads up the team's international scouting efforts. He previously held positions with the Wolves as director of college and international player personnel, director of player personnel and head scout.

A native of Montenegro (part of the former Yugoslavia), Durisic played for the national teams of Yugoslavia at all levels (cadets, juniors and seniors). He came to the United States in 1980 and attended Wichita State University where he played with former NBA players Xavier McDaniel, Cliff Livingston and Antoine Carr. Durisic was a member of two NCAA tournament qualifiers. After graduation from Wichita State in 1984 with a degree in computer science, Durisic played professionally for 11 seasons in Slovenia, where his teams won six Slovenian national titles.

Whether he can and will do this is a big question mark for me. He probably will to some degree but hard to say what that will be. It is not like he is a 17 or 18 year old freshman. He is a 22 year old sophomore who had a year of prep school at Sunrise. Maybe he will prove to be a late bloomer. In any case, I wish him luck.

              His hair is an issue.

I like the kid, but he's a boy among men right now, physically. Last thing he needs to do is start jacking up 3's, but like I've said, watch him in warmup and it's all he works on.

I probably should have elaborated. When I say I think of Stutz and Withey I don't mean that I think that he will be as good as them his junior and senior year. I just mean that both of those guys looked overmatched at times early in their career but also showed flashes of what they could be. Both players improved throughout their careers, especially their junior and senior seasons.

Since we'll have 14 players on scholarship next year, I think Nurger could be the odd man out, unless someone leaves or takes a prep year. If a scholarship is freed up, does Nurger get his redshirt next year or will he be needed?

Rauno puts out a lot of effort on the floor. I'm wondering how much effort he is putting into the weight room.

I think he needs an off season spent in the working in the weight rooms, chugging weight gainers, and working on his game. More or less what is normal for a guy his size and build. Too bad we had to miss a year of him at what could have been his best, very much like Stutz. But injury and lack of depth forced him to burn his red-shirt. Shaq being followed by RN at the 5 could end up being very scary for MVC foes.

RN will play spot minutes next year just like this year.

You must think Willis is really good.
