Y'all can quit bagging on RN, the side eye that he received from Gregg as he left the court after missing that lay up was enough to burn his soul for 3 life times.

He passes up a lot of open 3's, which is his main calling card. He's doing OK on D and getting boards for a 6' guard. It seems that the main thing he does with the ball is maybe dribble a time or two and then pass it to someone else to set something up. Not surprising his TO count is so low. I haven't seen him make moves to try to break down a D. He tends to wait until someone comes open on the perimeter and then makes an easy (and safe) pass to them.

"He's here to make shots, not miss them and get DUIs" was one of many comments following the UNI debacle. Ouch.
Her and I had to have a little sit down. We discussed the pressure of the moment, the lifetime of effort and dedication it takes to even GET to the point where you can take the shot. How these kids are just that...kids.
We then discussed her shortcomings, mistakes, moments of poor judgement and how those things don't get printed and shared for the entire city, state and country to discuss and how they are discussed without the benefit of knowing the person.
Are you a good kid?
I think I am.
Have you made mistakes?
Yeah, everyone does.
Do those mistakes make you a bad person?
I don't think so.
Do we all deserve a chance to redeem ourselves and be forgiven?
Yes sir.
Well then, we agree on that. But with mistakes come consequences. No NMSU game for you.
Sometimes I hate being a dad.
I thought Conner was one of many Shockers that were really good last night. You see why they want more. Ron and Fred want more. They know what he's capable of and they are trying to get it out of him. @Aargh: made a great point about turnovers. Yes, he's been insanely careful with the rock and so far has only 3 turnovers. THREE. Only little Bush and Shamet have fewer. Think about that for a minute. BUT he needs to push things more, take some chances and test boundaries. He's got the talent, it's time to unleash the beast.
He's a quiet and serious kid at times. I wish he'd smile and enjoy the moment more often. I don't think I've seen him smile once. I've heard he's happy to be here and I believe him. His demeanor wasn't any different at Lawrence. Young man, there will all too rapidly come a time when you will wish people payed attention and cared....just like WSU fans, enjoy the moment.
I'll comment on the game more later. These guys played their tails off last night. They did Saturday as well. 41 points, 53 points....the next "fan" that questions the effort of this team is going to my boot directly up their internet ass. It's ridiculous. I've never seen a team bust ass every time down the court like these guys. Even Nurger, who gave up a year of his career for the team, not for him, but for the team, and is struggling mightily to be successful, is out there busting his hump trying to out work the other guy.

While struggling some with his shot, his floor game has been better that I expected. He makes great inlet passes, handles the ball well, and while he needs to be more aggressive like he started to show tonight are we really going to complain that a player has not enough turnovers?? I thought tonight was his best game so far as evidenced by his +/- of +29 tonight.
333 Min, 125 pts, 28 reb, 20 ast, 9 steals ... THREE TURNOVERS ... oh and 1 block ha.
How many many teams would love to have a player that averages 15 points, 2.4 asst, 3.3 reb, and only .36 TOs per 40 minutes of game time ....
and an 83% FT Shooter.

While I enjoyed his three at the end of the half very much, my favorite CF play on offense was his driving layup in the 2nd half. It was not a wide open lane to the basket and was probably a "medium" in terms of difficulty. Those are the kind of plays we have not been finishing well during the recent pause in our ascendancy.
I thought his two steals and his overall defense were well above average last night as well. It was a nice game for him.
Switching gears, IMO Anton is finally developing into the reliable 8-10 ppg, 5 rpg post player we hoped for at the start of the season. It took 4-6 weeks longer to get there than we might have expected, for obvious reasons, but his spacing in the offense is finally looking good and his FG% is on a rocket's trajectory as a result. I think he will have a nice finish to the year if he can just keep those arms straight up on D rather than letting them lean in like a weeping willow. And although his defense has been frustrating, his footwork on box outs is light years ahead of our other bigs. Shaq would do well to watch some tape of Anton rebounding for tips on how to properly throw around his ample caboose in the paint.

He just needs to find a way to stretch that 14 minutes up to 20 by staying out of foul trouble. If that happens, we are really in business.

No doubt. Perhaps Anton is getting over his anxiousness regarding contact that he, completely understandably, has been dealing with since returning from that scare.

He went up last night against 2 guys that were way bigger than him and it went as expected. He got blocked. Thankfully TT saved it then made a 3 off it. The kid just oozes potential, but he's got to understand how to play good team offense.
