It is shocking how fiscally impoverished the MVC is as a whole. The irony is if you were to ask the typical WSU fan who has some knowledge of our financials, he or she would likely simply say that were are doing what we can to stay nationally-relevant, not how bad we have the vast majority of our conference mates pinned to the mat in the context of dollars and cents.
Overall Athletic Department Revenues, Minus Football Expenses (where applicable):
WSU - $25.3M
ISUr - $22.2M
SIU - $18.3M
Drake - $14.9M
Bradley - $14.2M
UNI - $13.9M
Loyola - $13.8M
MSU - $12.7M
Evansville - $10.9M
ISUb - $10.8M
Men's Basketball Revenue:
WSU - $6.8M
Bradley - $3.8M
UNI - $3.6M
Loyola - $2.8M
Evansville - $2.5M
ISUr - $2.32M
Drake - $2.26M
MSU - $2.2M
ISUb - $1.93M
SIU - $1.86M
(Extra decimals added where required to break a tie due to rounding.)

There are many more metrics - athletically and institutionally - where we make the balance of the MVC look this bad as well, even though our student enrollment is about average in the conference.
