It's quite possible. Many of us grew up in an era when there was no Big 8 football played in the state of Kansas. Therefore, you chose between Oklahoma and Nebraska. Of course, many of us outgrew those allegiances.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

As a young adult my father kept tickets so I was able to go to games here and there and attend a lot of OU UT games which are simply a lot of fun. It's a great event.
As an older adult, it's become less and less enjoyable to trek down there and get stuck in a mass of 90k people to watch something that, to me at least, is much more "watchable" on big screen HGTVs.
Am I a fan of OU football? Yes. But I enjoy some of the periphery as much or more than the games....for instance, I love the radio pregame 6 hours before game time. I used to have to be 20 miles south of Stillwater to pick up the station....now I listen on a smartphone Ap.
Sure I miss the free hot dogs in the Varsity O Club, the televisions and comfy chairs in the Touchdown Club, the band marching through campus, that amazing pizza by the slice joint just north of the stadium and the general pageantry of college football. I think it's been 4 years since I've been to a OU UT game in Dallas.
But what I've learned is FAR more important and enjoyable are the person experiences I'm lucky enough to enjoy with the various WSU programs and I wouldn't trade even ONE for 50 yard line season tickets and suite access to every home OU game. It's a terrible dirty business college football, and while I enjoy the sport, I loathe the total experience.
I know a lot about OU basketball and it's history. I've met Billy Tubbs, Dave Bliss, Alvin Adams, Gar Heard, Wayman Tisdale, Stacey King and yes even Buddy Hield. I attended the first basketball event at Lloyd Noble Arena.
But make no mistake, my heart, my pocketbook and my loyalties reside squarely at 21st and Hillside. I will wear black and bleed yellow. You won't find a fiber of crimson or cream anywhere near me that day.

Unless he was just trying to keep to his namesake and pointing out something ridiculously obvious, there was no other reason to post. Or announce to the world that he was an OU football bandie which no one here would care about. (Btw, Doc is NOT one of those)
Great question though.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
