    Also from the MSU board:

I saw Moats announce today that all tickets bought Wednesday will be half off
I hope there will be a lot of Shocker fans there to help me fend of these rabid hillbillies and their sisters.

Come on now. You mean you haven't come to appreciate a hillbilly's sister yet? :)

The spread moves based on total bets, not on what a vegas line maker thinks will happen. They want even money across the board, so they're trying to entice bettors to take the side lacking bets by adjusting the spread to be more favorable.

In the case, I think the game opened at -8 WSU, and moved to -11 WSU. Meaning, bettors were seeing value in WSU covering 8 points, so what could have happened was 80% of the bets were going on WSU, and they want to get that as close to 50% as possible, so they make the spread larger (more difficult for WSU to cover) in hopes people will bet MSU to hold WSU to beating them by under 11.
I believe he's actually referring to the vig. Whatever site he's looking at probably uses -108 as the open ($108 bet wins $100). Vegas typically uses -110 while online books will use -105

This match-up will go down in Valley history. The first of potentially three final meetings between 4 Valley legends. Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker vs Marcus Marshall and Gavin Thurman. This game has been 4 years in the making. If you thought the WSU/UK game was a good one just wait for tomorrow in Springfield.

Isn't this the only game the guys travel by bus rather than plane?

It would be the last if anyone in Missouri could grow the brains to operate a radar.

I can't handle all the Angst that MM and GT have given us. Can we just forfeit so we don't have to go through with it?

Chris Kendrix (10.8 pts, 4.3 rebs) won't play for MSU.

I don't blame him. Would you?

Those are outstanding accomplishments that show great versatility and value.

Paul Suellentrop did point out the following regarding a handful of MVC Alums, including 3 former Shockers:

VanVleet had a season-high nine assists, giving him 515 for his career. He also had five rebounds, which gives him 395 for his career. He needs five more rebounds to become the second MVC player with 1,000 points, 500 assists and 400 rebounds. Former Indiana State guard Jake Odum is the other.

That stat is a reflection of VanVleet’s versatility.

It is also a reflection of the fact Larry Bird (2,850 points/1,247 rebounds/434 assists) played three seasons at Indiana State. Oscar Robertson (2,973/1,338/425) played three seasons and Cincinnati apparently didn’t record assists in his first season.

There are similar stories with WSU’s Cleo Littleton (2,164/878/no assists recorded from 1951-55), Dave Stallworth (1,936/838/no assists recorded from 1961-65) and Warren Armstrong (1,301/839/429 in three seasons).

                            Read more here: http://www.kansas.com/sports/college...#storylink=cpy

It would not bother me a bit to see Warren (Armstrong) Jabali's likeness added to the Koch Arena rafters when they add Ron and Fred.

You do realize that Mr. Thurman is now playing locally don't you? http://www.newmanjets.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

Marcus Marshall also doesn't play at MoState. I believe it's a reference to a bet from a few years ago that Marshall and Thurman would be far better players than Baker and VanVleet.
