Mock will be a tough challenge for our posts but our posts (minus Grady even) handled Zimmerman and Poetl quite well. No reason that the same cannot be done on Wednesday.

I watched much of the Evansville and Mo. State game. I'm not worried. Just like last Season, our D will bottle them up. We slowed down their 2 stars last Season to a mild roar and we will do so to them again Wed.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

            Aces - 62
            7/10 is not exactly awful.

I am really worried about #50, Blake Simmons. Not.

              Here are the RPIs of some of UE's opponents: 316, 283, 182, 153, 131, 334, 206, 120, 264, 173, 254.

Evansville is your quintessential paper lion. They bring in a gaudy record but it comes by the way of a 278 strength of schedule. Yeah, they've got set plays to get Valentine his open looks, who cares. The Shox SHOULD win by 22 against these posers. Anything less is due to the Shox beating themselves, not anything that EU can do to us. Their best win is against UC Irvine, I repeat, UC Irvine. If this Shocker team is an upper tier NCAA tourney squad like everyone says they are, then teams like this one should only present a 15 minute speed bump.

                    I completely agree with this.

That's quite a post you found, Stickboy. The Aces are better conditioned? Is that because of their notoriously grueling practices?

I thought last year's game in CKA with Evansville was going to be tough, but it wasn't. I won't be overconfident, but I think Shocker D can prevail.

Probably because only 6 of them play. Got to be fit to play 35+ minutes a game, quality opponents or not.

On a more serious note, Evansville does average 21 assists per game. After Balentine at 4.9 apg, 4 of the other 6 regulars average between 3.1-3.9 apg.

Won't sell this team short. Good perimeter shooting teams give us problems and are
unpredictable. Good test to see if our perimeter defense has improved since early on
weakness. I suspect it will be fairly close until the last ten minutes when we wear
them down with our depth and win 74-63. It's Saturday's game at SIU that worries me more.

[QUOTE=Stickboy46;614118]Fun quote from the aces board. They sure are confident after beating up on the bottom third of the NCAA.

In all seriousness....I believe the only way The ACES can lose this game, is if they beat themselves.
They're definitely the better team this season, than SHOX.
SHOX has the 10-12 point advantage, in a lot of games, because they wear black and their recent historical swag.

The ACES are better conditioned, more accurate in shooting and passing. (Even with The ACES atrocious Free Throw shooting exhibition the past two games, still have a better FT% than SHOX and have made more FT's than SHOX has even attempted)

The ACES just need to shut out the 10k Auntie Em's and Uncle Henry's and play their game. Don't tense up and feel intimidated by the banners, in Koch. Get the ball into EMO and let him dunk on Shaq, Grady, Kelly, or Wamukota a few times.
Adam, Mislav, Blake, & JayB play their games.
And DJ, will just be DJ and refuse to allow them to take this season away from him, EMO, and Adam.
Come back to the FC, with a 14-2 (3-0) record and watch the Evansville community clamor for tickets.[\QUOTE]
The only way the Aces can lose? WOW

                              That's strong.

But then again, their 2 All Americans are 26-32 in Valley play during their 4 year career, including a 9-19 record on the road in those 3 plus years in conference.

Of course they were the last team to defeat WSU in Wichita, so their players and coaches are probably used to it.

Did you hear the stat that WSU is 2 games better over the last 5 Valley seasons with their ROAD RECORD than the next best team is AT HOME. The Shocks are 31-6 on the road during that time, the next best record at home is UNI at 29-8 (of course ignoring WSU's 34-3 home record during the same period)..
