Here's the deal. Every solitary Shocker Season is unique in its own twists and turns. There are always expectations even though we know not for sure all that waits ahead along the excursion. This Season is no exception. After us being ranked in the Top 10, lots of unexpected injuries occurred and adversity was close behind. Even so, the old adage says "Don't judge a book by its cover." Even so, this script we have witnessed so far started like a sucker punch in the mouth. So what happens now? It is not always how the race begins as much as the learning curve on the journey along the way. What we magnify is the extended Dancing in the last paragraph of the book. Our foes want the same thing and will be standing in the way for us to deal with.
Thus, the Shockers get back to the Office at 21st and Hillside, already knowing 3G will have them working on boxing out and rebounding, etc. Why? Incoming is 13-2 Evansville led by the top rebounder in the whole Country named Mockevicius who just tallied 21 points and 21 rebounds versus Mo. State. Mo States whole team had 28 rebounds. Also, we never fail to mention Mr. Balentine who can stroke the rock in the net. Are the Shockers scart? No because-----
"Never fear, FVV and Baker are here." Mr. Baker had nice success against the Purple Aces last Season and will cover Balentine like a cheap suit. FVV will dissect their D. until it parts like the Red Sea. MM continues to grow his game in leaps and bounds. Shaq is asserting his game inside and CF is helping us outside.
As we gaze into the Shocker future pondering the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey pegged it, how does 9-5 and 3-0 sound with this win? One game at a time. The Shocks D-fence will prevail.
