New Mexico State lost to Baylor by 15 tonight. Turnovers were the difference, 21-7. Siakam and Baker combined for 47 of New Mexico State's 70.

I watched the first half of the NMS v. Baylor game.

This is what I saw:
1. Very loose with the ball. Maybe 10-12 turnovers in first half. Maybe another 6 fumbled, but recovered balls.
2. #48, Siakam, will be a handful for our bigs. He had about 12 points at half-time.
3. Four players are from Canada.
4. Players are long.
5. Good free throw shooters.
6. Poor on defense. Played a lot of zone and maybe all zone in first half.

They are slow but huge. I'm with Doc, any win without getting somebody hurt is a good win. Hopefully they will go on and win their conference.

If anything has killed us it's 3 guards and stretch 4's this year. We've been pretty good with post players.

What has killed us are teams with good enough guards to not get steamrolled by Ron and Fred, with enough athleticism elsewhere to exploit the rest of the team with the help of the stripes. Pretty much the reason why Utah beat us last year; it wasn't the footer but their all-star PG that beat us. We've also been beating ourselves though with some truly terrible shooting and a few games with a lot of TOs.
