  • Also, that was one of the most hard-nosed performances I've ever seen. It was a night when darn near NOTHING was falling, but nobody got down on themselves and mentally checked out. They doubled down (see what I did there?) and grinded out a win in spite of their own shooting. That's why Marshall was so giddy - it was the very definition of mental toughness.

    • I was surprised because Hall and Harris are MWC/West Coast officials for the most part.

Hall was the official that got knocked out after tipping the ball in overtime against Utah last year.

That officiating crew was Final Four good (they've all worked multiple), and we still got the benefit of calls.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

      • I like when the ball screens are set for Fred 30-feet and beyond, he has more of an opportunity to make people look really paralyzed. It is actually cruel and unusually punishment actually and almost unfair.

        • If someone has access feel free to summarize, thanks.

Wichita State finds itself at 4-4, but the Shockers' hope at an at-large NCAA tournament bid isn't gone. With a healthy Fred VanVleet at point guard, this team should be viewed differently.

It's Jeff *******, so I'm not sure it's worth asking. I certainly know *I* wouldn't pay to read it.

The win was pure balls, nay stones, on defense.

This... I thought UNLV looked like they were getting away with mugging our guys practically all night.

                • Welcome to CKA, UNLV. This is our signature fragrance, Play Angry. It's a robust and manly scent, with overtones of hustle and "not in our house." Once applied, you will find it has exquisite staying power, and it will be hard to forget. Be sure to take some home to remind you of your visit, as it is only available in Shocker-Land.

                      A: Evan Wessel, that's *&%^%&##ing who, and don't you g*****n forget it.

Definitely not. If anything they got called for way more ticky tack fouls. Other than the whistles completely benefitting the Shox, it was a well called game from 3 guys you will see officiating deep into March

                        • Is there a referee fan forum that I can go ruin?

If that was home cookin' it was a fuggin' Totino's cheese pizza.

They got called for some ticky tack stuff, but they also got away with some crazy amount of contact, most notably, a player literally shoving Evan in the back with full arm extension causing a turnover and UNLV basket.

                              That was rather egregious.

A lot of my perception on that was how we seemed to be having a lot of trouble with their press, and even with dribbling the ball at times.. I feel like early in the season you'd get whistled if you came within a foot of the guy with the ball. Plus, I remember one of our guys getting practically destroyed on at least one play with no whistle.

Again, just my perception of it.
