  • Away Game Watch Parties

Do any of the ShockerNetters get together for "watch parties" when the team is playing on the road? We used to do this quite often for the football team when I was in college (not at WSU), and I just wondered if there was ever a chance/choice to do it for any of the WSU basketball games. Seems like there are probably a few establishments around town that wouldn't mind a little boost to their business on game nights when the Shox are on the road. Thoughts?

Do they show the games that are only available on ESPN3? I know there's a way to do it, but never knew if they did it or not.

most if not all have the capabilities of getting ESPN 3. I would just call a place you are thinking of going and get confirmation

          Same in Atlanta

My 13 year old Grandson wears his WSU shirt to school at least one day a week. He will be watching the game with me.

we used to do watch parties in Houston back before the days of ESPN3 when you had to go to the sports bar to watch most of the games. We had a decent size group including several of the players familes and friends.

I'll be moving to KC this month, so this is a great time for me to ask this. Any watch parties downtown P&L area? Also, is there a better option for getting shocker games on tv in KC? Cable? Satellite? Neither? I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to what channels and coverage you can get up there.

I'd go to at least one if the people were required to wear their SN nametag...I'd love to match up your realness with the mental image!

Haha!! Now that could be interesting, and certainly would be fun.

Why ruin a reputation by meeting them in person. People would be much too reasonable. 😀

Hadn't even considered that. I mean, how disappointing would it be if Fever was there and he didn't verbally beat the hell out of some poor unfortunate soul that was talking bad about our beloved Shockers?

This seemed like the most fitting place for this post:

Tickets for the WSU game at SIU went on sale today. If you're interested in joining the watch party at SIU arena for that game, here's the link.

Id love to attend a SN watch party with name tags. I've always thought a St. Louis postgame gathering with nametags would be fun.

The Alumni Association has watch parties at the Fox and Hound on Metcalf. I've never been, but there's that.

As for the games on TV. Time Warner has a channel called Metro Sports that carries all of the games that are on Cox 22. I've had TWC for a few years and like it. A lot of the time the game will be blacked out on ESPN3 and only available on TWC. I can only think of a few games that I haven't been able to watch since getting TWC.
