I'm probably a bandwagon guy compared to most of you. I didn't move here until 1998, and have only been a Shockers fan since 1999. I wish I'd been around for Dave the Rave, Cliff, X, Carr and all those guys, but we've all got to start somewhere. Guarantee you won't see this bandwagon guy jumping off the wagon though.

If you haven't been called a bandwagoner/KU fan on Shockernet, you haven't lived.

I joined Shockernet around 1999 and was accused on being a band wagoner around 10 years ago. The true band wagoners will disappear after a couple season's of missing the NCAA tourney. I hope that never happens.

Whether pretending to be a trombone player, or an actual trained trombonist, the difference isn't much.

Trust me on this, I know. :)

Red is in the colors for KU... Coincidence? I think not!

It's hard to know who the bandwagoners are because the bandwagon escape pods have not been fully activated. I don't think we have fully passed the safe bandwagon ejection altitude quite yet.

When we do, then we'll know, but at this time, I believe they are merely hunkered down in their safe zones, buckling their seat belts.

                          Bandwagon Detection System

                          Say these words: Cohen. Thompson.

If you see this reaction, bandwagoner = false.

As a side note, I always like Scott Thompson, the person. He was maybe just in over his head in trying to turn he Shocks around. Several years post Thompson, I wondered "Had he been given another year or two" what would he have done with the team and his recruit Perez. Would Thompson's Marvin Hill not have left the program upon Randy's hire? Would Thompson had gotten Williams, Evans and Benton just like Randy did? Randy was a "no brainer" hire with his connections to WSU and his juco coaching success, but that didn't turn out so well either.

I just can't figure the people out who do a total 180 when things get a little bit ruff. We still return a good portion of our scoring from last year, and have two pre-season All Americans returning. The loss of Cotton was huge but we still have some of the best young talent that we've had. Injuries happen, and it hit us hard, early. We lost two close games in Orlando, that could have been won with alittle more experience and BETTER SHOOTING. We weren't thinking we would have this much trouble putting the ball in the hole and that some of our key sophmores would get off to such a slow start. The fact that we shot so bad and only lost by 3 and 4 points is incredible. I don't care what some people think, I still think USC and Alabama are not terrible teams and Iowa is pretty darn good. With our team that we will have in late January and Febuary those would be three wins. Tulsa by the end of the year won't look as bad either. I see the ship setting sail for calmer waters and better days, yes I'm an optomist but I also know the talent on this team is too good and this coach is to determined to let a slow start ruin our season.

Having those three games back-to-back-to-back throws off all the normal calculus. There was minimal time to work on errors and teach in between the games. Normally, you'd have 2, 3, 4, or more days; here, you had less than 24 hours.

I would go so far as to say that, had that been a normal cadence of games, we win one of them, at least.
