Figured Id post this. According to his father, he thinks with 2 weeks of rest, Grady should be 100%. There are also some quotes that are pretty tough to read about his emotions as he was laying there unable to move.

Thanks for the link. Very scary deal. Watching the play it didn't look like the impact was that hard, but the still photo showed his neck really pushed backward. Hope he mends fully and soon and is able to play if that is wish.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but would Anton be a good candidate to receive a 6th year due to medical hardship?

Obviously, goal #1 is to get him healthy for life after college. But considering the doctor said he could play basketball again, maybe this is a way to get him a 2nd chance to play in the NCAA tournament, assuming he's not back this season.

What a relief! This incident quickly put things in a different perspective. I don't think I've ever cared less about the outcome of a Shocker game. Basketball is insignificant compared to the health and well-being of these guys.

Almost seems to me that he already received a medical redshirt while at Cleveland State.

It is possible to recieve two medical redshirts, IIRC.

Grant Gibbs had something like 12 medical redshirts.

Sure didn't take long for someone to bring up ol' grandpa gibbs.

                          Per Shane Ewing:
"Anton Grady is walking without crutches. Will meet with a neurosurgeon tomorrow. No Talk of timeline for return yet."

                          Also noted
"Gregg Marshall says he doesn't know if Anton Grady will ever play again"

This has to be a good sign for Grady

Anton Grady is with the team and he looks good. He didn’t practice on Saturday, but he did shoot jump shots and work up a mild sweat. I haven’t talked with Grady, but when you watch him do those things, his goal of returning to basketball seems realistic, and fairly quickly.

This is great news. And as much as I'm down on Shaq, Sullentrop's observation is spot on. Whenever I watch the Shox on TV, I usually see Fred next to Shaq. Maybe he can coax him out of his funk.

But even if he does, I'm skeptical about the future. That young man has a LOT of growing up to do. He won't have Fred next year. Time for him to man up.
