As much as I hate losin, it has been really enjoyable watching the freshman play. Hamilton and Taylor aren't ready for prime time, but they are talented and enthusiastic.

I have a question that maybe somebody knows a better answer to than I do. I know that Hamilton has made some (perhaps more than I've even seen) empty-headed plays on defense, completely being out of position or losing his guy. That's going to happen to fremshmen. It doesn't surprise me at all. The other side of that is that I feel like his heart, power, and toughness in the paint could be extremely useful otherwise. Is there any chance that if he was given a chance to play through a few of those mistakes, rather than being pulled for them, he may grow into a valuable part of this team, much as MM has done when allowed to pay through his defensive mistakes? Or are his defensive deficiencies more aggregious than I know and simply too bad to not be played through?

Hamilton gets quite a bit of time and will get some more while Grady is sidelined. I think the biggest difference between EH and MM is that EH doesn't know several of the sets. I think MM doesn't close out like he should on the defensive sets.

MM last game (when we were in a matchup zone) sagged off of the man with the ball in his area on the wing because their was a man in the corner who didn't have the ball. In matchup principles, one guards the ball hard in his area. His man was a very good outside shooter and drilled the 3. He was pulled briefly and later returned in spite of his expensive mistake. Case in point is that Young Players who in coaches view help the team are playing in spite of youthful mistakes.

Not only did we see MM emerge for the 3rd game in a row, we also watched Hamilton get 14 points in 17 minutes.

One good thing, nice to see the future in McDuffie and Hamilton.

I thought the second half today was the most Shocker like we've played since Fred went down. Yes, we made a lot of mistakes, but we fought harder and gave more effort than I've seen recently. There was finally a Shaq and Zach sighting in the same game. And I agree with Trop. McDuff and Hamilton are going to be monsters.

                      Bump.

Congrats to Markis on winning FOY and making the All-Newcomer Team!

Crazy to think how far down the roster he was to start the season. He made the most of his opportunities and was reward justly.

I, like many of you, was super excited when he committed. I am even more excited now to see what he will do with the rest of his time at WSU! (how ever long that may be ;))

Brown is a good player and belongs in starting line up. Next year will be Landry and McDuffie time to shine for 30 min a game...who will be the other guard?

Does Peyton Allen play the 3 or the 2?

I think he's a natural 2, but could probably shift to the 3 if he's able to defend. I just don't think he's got enough Evan Wessel in him to play the 4.
