Probably true, but at 6'10" and 3 feet beyond the 3 point line, not many defenses are going to have a hand in his face.

Weirdly enough I'm more worried about this than our March Madness status. Something doesn't seem right with EH, despite his great potential. Between the reported "near fight" in scrimmage and blowing up with 3G on the sideline... Just not normal forthis program.

      • Well, shucky darn -- how disappointing. SC is a good team --as their good young players get more experience they could be a real load -- and it won't be a bad loss, but WSU could so easily -- really, should -- have won that game with just a little more intelligence and restraint.

How many times did we see guys dash madly to the basket, usually (although not always) in transition, trying to weave through two or three guys with a SportsCenter move instead of recognizing that the numbers weren't there and just slowing down to run offense? Even granting that the offense sans FVV isn't exactly a well-oiled machine, that alone could easily have led to a few more baskets, which would have been plenty.

The encouraging news is that with a healthy Fred this is probably a routine win, and even without him the addition of Frankamp to create an alternative to Baker would almost certainly have been plenty to change the result, too. And both of those changes will be coming soon to an arena near us. So as long as everyone else stays healthy, and once Baker finally gets a chance to rest a little, all is well. Just not obviously so yet.

        • I was watching on my ipad and didn't see anything about the EH/HCGM disagreement. Any more details would be appreciated.

          • Awe ****, after a second piece of my wife's bourbon pecan pie, things are looking up. We will be ok. When we do get a decent seed, the committee porks us anyway.

            • I'll say this, despite being gloomy.
I remember a time when Shockernation stood up and gave a helluva applause, in a losing effort, because they left it all on the floor that night. We took a step towards having that effort tonight. And despite being far undermanned during the tough part of our schedule, we will have an all American point guard and even more talent joining the ranks at some point, which is a blessing we haven't had in "I don't even know when".

Our seeding won't be pleasant. But if WSU is healthy when the ball tips in March, **** it. I like our chances to play on. That latter part didn't change tonight.

Edit* oh and Notre Dame losing to Monmouth-townsvillecity? Is way worse.

              • Shox made USC look good. Hopefully the freshmen will all watch that game at least twice before they play tomorrow. So many DUMB plays. The bright side is freshmen are getting some playing time against real competition. Experience that will hopefully start to sink in so the lights will come on sooner. FVV just needs to be given the time to heal. Shox shouldn't have to play with him at less than 90%.
                Play on.

                • Eric will be fine. He'll find an outlet for that energy. I'd rather he have a little too much than none at all.

Indeed, it all depends on when he takes his last final exam and how quickly the teacher gets the grade posted online--and the registrar accepts it. Some students may not even have a final in each class. Some students have finals as late as the 10th. Whether CF can be available as early as the 9th is totally dependent on his class schedule and the speed of the professor and administration. Let's hope they all work fast. The final schedule doesn't follow the same daily schedule as CF has had during the semester.

                      • So is the statement on Hamilton confronting Marshall true? Inquiring fans want to know what exactly happened.

Typical. Another "get up for the big boys" performance.

Like I said earlier, he'll go 1 for 13 tomorrow.

                            • Nothing happened between Hamilton and Marshall that is newsworthy. Normal heat of the game stuff. However, there were several USC players that were running their yap to Baker and Marshall, and Coach was none too happy about it.

Guessing it was boatright and the black guy with the sort of blonde-ish mohawk.

They were yapping and making stupid childish hand motions all game.

Give Baker any help besides Mcduffie and the game is Wsu's game every day of the week.

If the officials actually called the game like it was supposed to be called nowadays we would be looking at WSU shooting something like another 8-12 free throws.

There were times they would drive down low and get wacked or smacked and no fouls, yet USC comes down and bump/ drive into a WSU defender and the foul is on WSU.

This was reminiscent of a "dunk city" game, high flying type play that works every once in a while and flame's out. The luck of making 12-23 3's won the game for them.
