This game did indeed remind me of the GW loss. Tulsa played solid, got calls, and we got outrebounded and beat. Back to the drawing board. It's early. We need FVV healthy moving forward. I will be glad when Frankamp can play. I want all of our players getting ready to rumble and together and we will be fine. We have work to do and tonight pointed some of that our for sure.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I will argue for Shamet's case and say that two of his fouls (the "charge" he got called on when driving and the call that he fouled out on) were terrible calls. He had some nice steals and I think he was getting better the more he played out there. Can't say anything about Shaq, he did not have a good game.

We looked bad. Some players performed terrible. Not the first time in the past few years this has happened.

This game was basically a push from the get-go. Most of the stats and lines said as much. Losing this game is not a shock; if it is then you weren't following along.

We won't free fall in the polls. If it is more than 5 spots I'd be really surprised. Several top 25 teams have already lost, in similarly unimpressive fashions. Pollsters can see this Tulsa squad was a great team last year, and possibly a top 25 group this year, and it was a road game.
We're 9 now, I'd say 14-15 at worst. Then again the polls are worthless as far as I'm concerned

Only difference...we are not a "Blue Blood" or NCAA Royalty amongst the pollsters. We drop plenty. But on a brighter side, we play better as the under dog with something to prove.
When your not practicing, someone somewhere is and when you meet him...he'll beat you.

          • the pressure of an undefeated season got eliminated pretty quick.

The Fr-So team looked awesome against Charleston Southern. They looked like Charleston Southern against Tulsa.

If Marshall has a weakness, it's offense against a zone. I've never seen the Shox show anything effective against a zone, and we've got some 3-shooters on the team before Frankamp becomes eligible.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

              • Tulsa was the better and deeper team tonight. Fred not being 100% certainly hurt. Our youngsters weren't quite ready to play in that kind of road environment against a very good, very athletic and very experienced Tulsa team. We will get better but we were exposed a little bit tonight.

No, they're not. The polls are free national exposure.

                  • 3 wins in Orlando and this game will be a distant memory.

Since 2013, I think our drops in the polls after loses have shown some respect for our program. They haven't been that bad.

                      • It's almost as interesting to see how our somewhat spoiled fan base reacts to this loss as much as our young players. I was worried about this game because it was one that I thought might be over looked. I thought Tulsa looked pretty good. Not a fan of their coach or their players but they were more determined, aggressive, athletic and didn't waste opportunities. They earned it tonight. This might inspire our young players to aspire to be tougher.

The call he fouled out on was a good call unfortunately. On replay it showed he clearly hacked the crap out of the rebounder. The charge, if I remember right was when he tried to go 1 on 2. That was an easy call. Most of his fouls were dumb fouls. If anybody has a beef, it's Shaq

                          • We could not press with Fred in the game and we couldn't execute when he was not in the game.

                              • Congratulations to Tulsa. They played really well tonight.

Grady, Baker, Shamet (got a terrible whistle) had the best performances. FVV played well too given he's obviously not 100% healthy.

Rashard, Evan, Shaq had their moments both ways.

Hamilton didn't play enough to make too much of an impact.

The rest of the guys didn't have their best game tonight.

                                We really could've used Frankamp.

                                Refs sucked, not surprised.
