They simply aren't a good basketball school. Their fans are all fluff. Their core fanbase only comprises about 1000 or so. This will be the second year of the Creighton exposed tour.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

That's what their dumbass fans don't understand. They're never going to win a guy to Omaha, Nebraska when there's so many better schools/cities in the league.

I agree that I have no idea why you'd choose the blue jays, but I'd much rather be in the BE than the MVC as an athlete. The BE is amazing. Go Hoyas.
The BIG EAST could walk all over WSU? LOL, no. I can tell there's too much Lawrence in you already with that post.Deuces Valley.

As to a player picking a school because they are in a certain conference, don't people constantly gripe about that in the recruiting forum? Things are said such as; 'I guess he'd rather play good competition than play for a good program'. The reverse is also true when those same people say, 'Can't believe he picked upper Midwest state university of middle somewhere USA when he could have been a Shocker.' While perhaps you are not one of the posters that says this, it obviously is important to many or forum members wouldn't constantly be hoping to join a different conference.
Bottom line is that either conference affiliation is important or it isn't. There are plenty of things to bash the Bluejays on, but why on earth would you choose to throw stones at the Big East from the glass house that is the MVC?Livin the dream

The Valley sucks this year. Of course they're not better overall than the BIG EAST. But the BIG EAST is certainly not a major player. They're a high-end mid-major.
Why do I bash the BIG EAST? That's easy. Because I can.Deuces Valley.

I said the BIG EAST is not significantly higher than a traditional Valley. This year is not a traditional Valley as the Valley sucks. The BIG EAST is probably playing over their heads a little bit thus far too.
My main point, which what I was going for, is the BIG EAST is not a power conference. They are not in the same league as the other 5. On a lot of levels. Period.
Shall we continue?Deuces Valley.

They've been better since realignment? Are you kidding me? In what regard,... TV coverage? LOL.
Bids aren't the best way to measure conference aptitude. The committee is too screwy a lot of the time and they've gotten their fair share of bubble bids that sway the results.
Your last sentence makes it insinuate that I've said something different. Can you please find me that post in which I've stated something differently?
The BIG EAST sucks and I'm not envious of it. There are some good programs in it, like Nova, G-town, Xavier, and Butler. After that, meh. The previous BIG EAST was a major conference. No doubt about that.Deuces Valley.

It will take a while for people to figure out that the current big east is not at all what the former big east was. I think the big east going forward is going to be a high mid major conference and the MVC will be right behind that along with other upper mid majors like the MWC and WCC. It depends on the year but these conferences are generally right there in the 8-12 conference RPI range. The current big east has had a good run to get started but they lost a lot in realignment. Became very much closer to mid major than a power conference for sure. The MVC is not that much worse, although it is admittedly worse, no doubt. WSU has been carrying this conference through some of its worst seasons in recent times. If a few MVC teams can get rolling again at the same time, there will be years in the near future that the MVC finishes neck and neck if not higher than the big east.Last edited by Dave Stalwart; December 6, 2015, 06:09 PM.
