Meaning, they cut off angles, call switches, rotate in the zone properly, cheat over off the help-side appropriately, etc. We don't just "get more aggressive than the other team" on man-on-man defense in order to be better defensively. Referees calling tighter defense won't affect us as much as it will other teams that simply try to dominate defensively with more aggression or hustle (aka, crappy P5 teams that only recruit knuckle-dragging athletes).
Also, we have good 3 point shooters, which plays into the fact that traditionally if we score 75+, we're extremely likely to win.
I'm optimistic about the tighter games being called.
It was not only unreal at how much our guys talked, but how little LMU and GW did. When I learned to play the game in the 80s and 90s, you couldn't play defense without it.
I think we'll be fine, although I have to admit that with the most physical 1-2-3 in D1 in FVV-Baker-Wessel I'd like to muscle up a little more. But as GM said, if you're going to go through a rule change you'd prefer to do it with two All-Americans.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Honestly, the kid sounds schitzophrenic, and it would seem that Ford told him that taking his anti-psychotics was required if he wanted to play basketball.Livin the dream

If a kid commits to a coach but breaks that commitment, and the coach gets fired, can the coach sue the recruit?
Looks like someone is looking for a payday and a scapegoat as to why all the crap about how great he was fed by AAU shoe guys didn't come true.

OSU scrimmage...

Landry will contribute but Taylor and Hamilton need more time. Kelly and Brown's defense improved other veterans not so much. I'm speculating Oklahoma State might of got the best of it.
I also noticed in a WSU article in the last day or two where Taylor's Hargrave coach (a guy who has coached multiple NBA players) said he could become the best defensive player in the country some day. Not bad for a guy who has always been looked at as a prolific scorer. Another article this week quoted Marshall as saying something to the effect that Landry and Taylor were performing their way into the picture.
Don't let Taylor's lack of ranking mislead you. He's the real deal. His playing time might be limited this year, but only because he's playing behind arguably the best PG in the country. Baker may play the point a bit when Fred is out, but Taylor will get minutes there as well. I could be wrong, but I doubt you'll see Frankamp getting PG minutes, his minutes will likely be at the 2. I've seen them both live, and Taylor's a better PG option.
