Did you not go last year or any year for that matter? It's practically the same amount.

I take it you never go to many events or concerts in your life or have never used ticketmaster. If you think this is highway robbery, then ticketmaster is committing first degree murder.

If the fees were built into the ticket prices and you never knew about it, would it still be a deal breaker?

    ... No really, deuces.

That's pretty common at concerts and sporting events at most arenas.

Anytime I see a ticket price, I usually just tell myself it'll be $10-15 more than what it shows. It's no difference than seeing a hotel price or airline fee before all the taxes and fees added on.

Don't let this deter you from going to the game.

It's a little bit different. They are advertising a $14 ticket and then hitting you with a $9 fee. That's a 64% markup. Not too many other industries get away with that, including the airlines and hotels.

Since I work about 3 minutes away, I hopped in my car, drove to the ticket office instead where there was no line & was more than happy to avoid the fees. They didn't bother asking for the code either. As others have suggested, a cap on the # of tickets you can purchase would likely eliminate/curb this problem. I don't plan on ever buying season tickets since most games are beatdowns & we're in a crappy conference so I try to get a great seat to the games I want to go to.
I don't know whether to lol or go LuskingForGuttin on this guy.

Do whatever you feel. I'm more than happy watching most games on tv & spending my $ on video equipment to further my craft (an expensive 1 at that). Sorry for not having my entire life consumed w/ basketball. I have other goals you imp.

Sounds like you may never be going to another event at an arena anywhere for the rest of your life. The fees are common place. I find it hilarious so many of you are so surprised by them. It's been like this every where for over a decade. Whatever you do, don't buy tickets on Stubhub then! Their fees make selectaseat/ticketmaster look like pocket change.

Go to Priceline and tell me that the price you see advertised isn't then marked up with an additional $20 fee for a hotel or who-knows-what fee for an airline. The price advertised is not the all-in rate.

At least now Stubhub shows you the complete price up front, a welcome change.

The thing I appreciate about StubHub is that it has started to advertise ticket prices with the fees already added in.

Actually, it's $6 for the $14 tickets. The fees vary in the level of ticket you purchase.

I honestly wish EVERYTHING would be posted at the all-in rate. Not that I can't do rough sales tax calculations in my head, but it would at least feel more honest. It is when you don't see the fees up front that irritates me. But as always, you have the choice of pay it or don't!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they stopped that practice after their earnings tanked a few weeks back. It's back to the hidden fee amounts to be discovered at checkout.

Really? That sucks. It has been awhile since I made a StubHub purchase.
